DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (7/12/18): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on July 12th, 2018. Troy Klauder's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

We've got 10 games being played today, which isn't bad at all for a Thursday. There's five different slates for us on DraftKings, with the all day slate starting at 2pm eastern and the featured slate starting at 7pm.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 7/12/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @TroyKlauder.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Max Scherzer - P, at NYM ($13,300)

I'm not always one to roll with a top starting pitcher, but Scherzer is definitely worth his price on Thursday. If you're willing to cut some payroll elsewhere to fit him in your lineups, Scherzer should pay off nicely. He's got an absurd 35.4% K-rate with a 2.60 FIP and should have a dominant outing against a scuffling Mets lineup.

Ross Stripling - P, at SD ($9,100)

With the best matchup a right-hander could ask for, it's surprising to see Stripling at such a low price. Even after being named to the NL All-Star team, Stripling comes at a great discount - he's probably the best value play available tonight. The Padres have the lowest wOBA in baseball against righties at .286, as well as the second-highest K-rate at 25.9%. Stripling has a sparkling 2.22 ERA and should not disappoint.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Wilson Ramos - C, at MIN ($4,200)

You'll have a tough time finding a hotter catcher than Ramos right now, who has seven homers and a .921 OPS in the last month. There aren't many stomach-able options at catcher, so I'm rolling with Ramos or completely punting the position.

Ian Desmond - 1B/OF, vs ARI ($4,300)

Ian Desmond is at home and against a lefty, which is pretty much the only scenario that he's worth playing in. He's got a 124 wRC+ against lefties and should produce well in the best offensive environment in baseball, Coors Field. DBacks starter Robbie Ray has gotten lit up in his last two starts and could see the same fate tonight.

Ketel Marte - 2B/SS, at COL ($4,200)

Speaking of Coors Field... Marte is another lefty-masher who gets to take advantage of the ballpark. Marte's got a 153 wRC+ with more walks than strikeouts against southpaws this year. I doubt opposing starter Kyle Freeland's success will last much longer, as he's got a 4.13 FIP this year.

Matt Duffy - 3B, at MIN ($4,100)

Duffy is in an awesome spot batting second for the Rays, where he will get the opportunity for both runs and RBIs. He's got a nice .337 wOBA this year and is a strong play in cash games for his high floor.

Jean Segura - SS, at LAA ($4,100)

In contrast to Duffy, Segura's explosive power/speed combo makes him an attractive GPP play for his high upside. Similarly, though, they are both two-hole hitters, so it's no coincidence that both have landed here. For the type of fantasy season he's had, you'd expect Segura to be more expensive, so take advantage while you can.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Joc Pederson - OF, at SD ($4,300)

Padres starter Tyson Ross might be the worst pitcher on today's slate, as he's got a 4.46 FIP and just got rocked for eight earned runs his last time out. By taking Pederson, the Dodgers leadoff hitter, you'll maximize plate appearances against Ross. Pederson should have the opportunity to score plenty of runs.

Dee Gordon - 2B/OF, at LAA ($3,600)

With so many strong starting pitchers going on Thursday, it's tough to find much value out of the available hitters. Gordon doesn't have a great matchup against Tyler Skaggs, but he is better against lefties and comes at a cheap price for a leadoff hitter. Plus, he can always score you points on the basepaths, with 22 steals this year.

Jon Jay - OF, at COL ($4,200)

I normally wouldn't depend so heavily on Coors bats, but again, there's just not a ton to choose from on the hitting side. A leadoff hitter in Coors is usually never this cheap, and even though Jay is only an average-ish hitter, that's plenty good enough.
