Top-5 MLB Pitching Prospects To Stash For Fantasy Baseball Redraft Leagues - Week 9 (2025)

Fantasy Baseball Prospects, Waiver Wire Stashes, MLB Rookies Call-Ups Sleepers

Andy's top pitching fantasy baseball prospects to stash for Week 9 (2025). His MLB prospects to pickups and stash on your bench and N/A spots in redraft leagues.

Welcome back to our top starting pitcher fantasy baseball prospects to stash for Week 9 of the 2025 MLB season. This week, we saw Noah Cameron make another start and continue to establish himself as a major leaguer. In addition, Zebby Matthews made his second start of the season against the Royals.

In this piece, we will check in on several repeating names. In addition, with Cameron and Matthews graduating to MLB status, we will take a look at a budding arm in the San Francisco system.

Below are the top pitching prospects to stash leading up to Week 9 of the 2025 MLB season.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Bubba Chandler, Pittsburgh Pirates

Currently At Triple-A
20% rostered

Bubba Chandler continues to remain the top pitching prospect to stash. The right-hander has continued dominating Triple-A and proven he is more than prepared for the big leagues.

On May 18, the right-hander tossed four 1/3 innings of two-run ball against Triple-A Louisville. In this outing, he struck out seven batters and allowed just two walks. In his previous outing against Louisville on May 13, Chandler posted his best outing of the season, tossing five shutout innings with eight punchouts.

Then, in his most recent start on May 24 against Toledo, Chandler carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning. He finished this start, allowing just one hit and two runs across six 1/3 innings of work.

Through 43 2/3 innings of work this season, the No. 2-ranked prospect in the sport (according to MLB.com) has posted a strong 2.27 ERA with a 1.09 WHIP. Across this stint, Chandler has struck out 61 batters and served up just 20 walks.

Even though Mike Burrows got the call to the majors this past week instead of Chandler, fantasy managers should continue to hold him on their bench. When he gets the call, he will carry high-end SP3 upside.

Andrew Painter, Philadelphia Phillies

Currently At Triple-A
3% rostered

The other top pitching prospect should also be viewed as a must-stash option. Andrew Painter is working his way back from Tommy John surgery and recently moved his rehab assignment to Triple-A.

In his most recent outing, Painter on May 21 against Buffalo, Painter logged four innings of two-run ball (one earned run). In this outing, he allowed just one walk, three hits, and struck out a season-high seven batters. During his first eight innings at Triple-A (two starts), Painter held a 2.25 ERA with an 8:5 K:BB.

It is very promising to see Painter not only lower his walk rate but also improve his strikeout production this week.

Earlier in the summer, the former 13th overall pick logged 11 1/3 innings at Low-A and held a 3.97 ERA with a stellar 0.97 WHIP. In this stint, Painter struck out 12 batters and allowed just one free pass.

Painter will still need some time at Triple-A to increase his workload, but he is quickly approaching his MLB debut. He remains on track for a mid-June MLB promotion.

Jacob Misiorowski, Milwaukee Brewers

Currently at Triple-A
1% rostered

While Logan Henderson may have stolen the Milwaukee pitching prospect spotlight over the past month, don't forget about Jacob Misiorowski. Misiorowski is currently viewed as the No. 4-ranked prospect in the system and the No. 72-best in the sport on MLB.com.

After posting a modest 21:12 K:BB with a 2.89 ERA across his first 18 2/3 innings this season, Misiorowski has been able to flip the script and has emerged as one of the top pitching prospects at the Triple-A level.

Over his last 33 2/3 innings (six starts), Misiorowski has posted a near-perfect 0.80 ERA with a 0.77 WHIP. During this stint, the hard-throwing right-hander has tallied 42 punchouts and shown elite control, serving up just eight free passes.

Brandon Woodruff (ankle) is nearing a return and will likely claim a spot in the rotation. However, Misiorowski can still find a viable path to the big leagues, given Chad Patrick's and Quinn Priester's often inconsistent showings.

Update - The Brewers optioned Logan Henderson to Triple-A earlier on Monday. As a result, both Henderson and Misiorowski are viable stash options from Milwaukee. However, given Henderson's success in the majors, he should be considered the priority stash option going forward.

Ian Seymour, Tampa Bay Rays

Currently At Triple-A
1% rostered

The 26-year-old has hit a bit of a skid at Triple-A but continues to flash high strikeout upside. Over his last three starts, the left-hander has held a high 5.27 ERA with a 1.83 WHIP. However, across these 13 2/3 innings, the southpaw has tallied 22 punchouts with just seven walks.

Before this skid, Seymour was one of the top pitchers at the Triple-A level, holding a stellar 1.73 ERA with a 0.99 WHIP. In 36 1/3 frames, Seymour struck out 46 batters and allowed eight walks.

While No. 5 starter Zack Littell has begun to turn the corner after his slow start, he still has posted a modest 3.47 ERA over his last 36 innings of work. Seymour should be in the mix to make his MLB debut before the All-Star Break. When he gets the call, he will carry high strikeout upside. As a result, he is worth stashing in deeper 14+ team formats.

Carson Whisenhunt, San Francisco Giants

Currently At Triple-A
1% rostered

With many repeating names now in the major leagues, San Francisco left-hander Carson Whisenhunt will occupy the final spot on this list. Whisenhunt is considered the No. 2-ranked prospect in the system on MLB.com.

After spending most of his 2024 campaign with Triple-A and holding a modest 5.42 ERA with a 1.61 WHIP, Whisenhunt has shown significant progression this season.

Since allowing seven runs on April 25 to El Paso, Whisenhunt has been one of the top pitchers in the Pacific Coast League. Over his last 28 innings of work, Whisenhunt has held a stellar 1.29 ERA with a 0.71 WHIP. During this stint, the left-hander has tallied 28 batters and allowed just two walks.

Over his first 23 innings of work this season with the Sacramento River Cats, Whisenhunt posted a high 5.03 ERA with a 1.35 WHIP.

While the Giants opted to add Hayden Birdsong to the rotation, Whisenhunt may also be called on quite soon. Earlier this week, the Giants placed right-hander Justin Verlander (pectoral) on the 15-day IL. If his stint on the IL lasts longer than expected, Whisenhunt would provide some much-needed depth to the rotation.
