Kyle Teel Transferred to 60-Day Injured List
Chicago White Sox catcher Kyle Teel (hamstring, knee) has been transferred to the 60-day injured list to make room for left-handed pitcher Joe Rock on the White Sox 40-man roster. Teel recently suffered a sprained LCL in his right knee during a rehab game while he worked his way back from the hamstring injury that has prevented him from taking the field in the big leagues this season. Teel is expected to miss an additional three to six weeks due to the knee injury, making his move to the 60-day IL a procedural one. The 24-year-old flashed high upside after making his MLB debut in 2025, hitting .273/.375/.411 with eight home runs, 35 RBI, 38 runs scored, and three stolen bases across 297 plate appearances. However, fantasy managers could be waiting until July for Teel to suit up for his 2026 White Sox debut. In Teel's absence, Edgar Quero and Drew Romo figure to split catching duties for Chicago.

Quinn Priester Slated For Rehab Start at Triple-A on Thursday
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Quinn Priester (shoulder) is scheduled to make his next rehab appearance with Triple-A Nashville on Thursday, per MLB.com's Adam McCalvy. Priester has yet to pitch in the big leagues in 2026 as he works his way back from symptoms of thoracic outlet syndrome. The 25-year-old was roughed up in his most recent rehab outing at High-A on Saturday, allowing seven earned runs across just 1 1/3 innings of work. Nevertheless, Milwaukee has apparently seen what it needed to see to push Priester to the next step of his progression. Priester had a breakout campaign with the Brewers in 2025, posting a 13-3 record with a 3.32 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 132 strikeouts across 157 1/3 innings (29 games, 24 starts). Milwaukee has a deep pitching staff and could be getting veteran starter Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) back from the injured list in short order, so Priester is not a lock to immediately rejoin the rotation. Fantasy managers should monitor Priester's progress closely as he continues his rehab.

Corbin Burnes Nearing Return to Game Action?
Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Corbin Burnes (elbow) said he has two more bullpen sessions before he can potentially face live hitters next Friday, per Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic. Piecoro also reports that Burns thinks it could be a "couple of weeks or so before he starts getting into games," and that Burnes is still targeting a "mid-July-ish" return to the big leagues. Burnes is working his way back from Tommy John Surgery, which ended his 2025 campaign last June. The 31-year-old appears to be progressing toward a relatively speedy return, although he still has several tasks to complete. Before getting injured last season, Burnes recorded a 3-2 record with a 2.66 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 63 strikeouts across 64 1/3 innings (11 starts). While he may not immediately return to peak performance in 2026, he should provide roster-worthy production across all fantasy formats upon his return.

Drake Baldwin Diagnosed With Grade 1 Oblique Strain
Atlanta Braves manager Walt Weiss said that catcher Drake Baldwin (oblique) has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 oblique strain, per Daniel Alvarez-Montes of El Extrabase. Baldwin was placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday. The 25-year-old had arguably been the best-hitting catcher in baseball before getting injured, hitting .303/.389/.543 with 13 home runs, 38 RBI, 39 runs scored, and one stolen base across his first 216 plate appearances of 2026. While a Grade 1 diagnosis signals a relatively minor strain for Baldwin, it's still unlikely that he will be able to return as soon as he is eligible in late May. Fellow Braves catcher Sean Murphy (finger) is also currently on the IL, leaving veterans Sandy Leon and Chadwick Tromp to handle catching duties in Atlanta for the foreseeable future.

Yandy Diaz Exits Early on Tuesday After Being Hit By Pitch
Tampa Bay Rays first baseman/designated hitter Yandy Diaz (hand) exited early from his team's matchup against the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday after being hit by a pitch on his hand in the eighth inning, per Ryan Bass of MLB TV. Diaz was two-for-four with a home run and two RBI before leaving the game. The 34-year-old has gotten off to a strong start to the 2026 season, hitting .316/.394/.506 with eight home runs, 33 RBI, 27 runs scored, and one stolen base across 198 plate appearances. The extent of Diaz's injury is not yet clear, but fantasy managers will have to hope that X-rays on the hand come back negative. Should Diaz land on the injured list, Rays outfielder Justyn-Henry Malloy could be in line to return to the big leagues and see time at designated hitter after being optioned to Triple-A on May 11.

Willy Adames Returns on Tuesday After Injuring his Thumb
San Francisco Giants shortstop Willy Adames (thumb) is back in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the division-rival Arizona Diamondbacks and right-hander Ryne Nelson at Chase Field and will bat fifth in the lineup, according to MLB.com. Adames was pulled from Monday night's loss early as a precaution after suffering a bruised right thumb when he was hit by a ground ball, but he'll be right back in there the next day. The 30-year-old Dominican is hitting just .238 (45-for-189) with four home runs, 14 RBI, 18 runs scored, and a stolen base in 47 games so far this year, but he has gone 15-for-37 (.405) with a homer, three doubles, eight RBI, and four runs scored in nine games since May 10. Fantasy managers will hope that Adames can continue to produce in a matchup against Nelson, who has also been much better on the mound recently.

Lance McCullers Jr. Goes on Injured List With Shoulder Inflammation
Houston Astros right-hander Lance McCullers Jr. (shoulder) is going on the 15-day injured list on Tuesday with right-shoulder inflammation, according to Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle. McCullers was scratched from his scheduled start on Tuesday on the road against the Minnesota Twins with a shoulder issue that manager Joe Espada said McCullers has been dealing with for a while. He will now miss at least the next two weeks and will be sent back to Houston to be evaluated. Given the 32-year-old veteran's lengthy injury history, it would not be a surprise if he faces an extended absence. McCullers is not worth stashing in mixed fantasy leagues while he recovers, and he's only rostered in 7% of Yahoo leagues at the moment. In his eight starts for Houston so far in 2026, McCullers struggled to a 6.86 ERA (5.06 FIP) and 1.52 WHIP with 43 strikeouts and 22 walks across 39 1/3 innings pitched. It remains to be seen who might replace McCullers in the team's starting rotation going forward.

Marlins Optioning Braxton Garrett to Triple-A
The Miami Marlins will option left-hander Braxton Garrett to Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday, a source told Jordan McPherson of The Miami Herald. Garrett joined the big-league rotation after left-handed pitching prospect Robby Snelling (elbow) landed on the injured list, and he had a rough return to the big leagues, allowing five earned runs while walking five and striking out three in just 1 1/3 innings in a loss on May 14 against the Minnesota Twins. Garrett made his second start for the Fish in an 8-4 loss to the division-rival Atlanta Braves on Tuesday, allowing two earned runs on three hits while walking three and striking out two in only three innings to lower his season ERA through two starts to 14.54. The 28-year-old southpaw was slightly better on Tuesday, but it still wasn't a great showing, and the Marlins want him to go back to the minors to work on some things. It is unclear who will be considered to take Garrett's spot in the big-league starting rotation with Snelling facing an extended absence.

Lance McCullers Jr. Scratched From Tuesday's Start Against Twins
The Houston Astros announced that right-hander Lance McCullers Jr. (undisclosed) has been scratched from his scheduled start on Tuesday in Minnesota against the Twins for undisclosed reasons. Right-hander Jason Alexander will start in his place. Fantasy managers will want to check back later for a reason why McCullers won't make his start at Target Field. The 32-year-old veteran and former first-rounder in 2012 hasn't really been consistent enough to be rostered in mixed fantasy leagues, as he entered the day with a 2-3 record, 6.86 ERA (5.06 FIP), and 1.52 WHIP with 43 strikeouts and 22 walks in 39 1/3 innings pitched across his eight starts in 2026. The oft-injured hurler did bounce back in his last outing on May 13 against the Seattle Mariners, allowing two earned runs while walking two and striking out six in 5 1/3 innings of work, but he's only had quality starts in two of his eight appearances so far this year. McCuller is currently rostered in under 10% of Yahoo leagues.

Ernie Clement Out on Tuesday With Strep Throat
Toronto Blue Jays infielder Ernie Clement (illness) is out of the starting lineup on Tuesday against the division-rival New York Yankees due to strep throat, according to Hazel Mae of Sportsnet. Clement told Mae that "it started yesterday." Davis Schneider is starting at second base for Toronto and will hit seventh for the Jays against Yankees right-hander Will Warren in the Bronx. Schneider has faced Warren only two times in his career, but has a home run and two RBI. The 30-year-old Clement should be considered day-to-day for now. The former fourth-round selection by the Cleveland Guardians in 2017 out of Virginia hasn't provided fantasy managers with much besides a decent average (.281) in 2026. He also has a .309 on-base percentage, .406 slugging percentage, .714 OPS, three home runs, 16 RBI, 18 runs scored, and a steal in 188 plate appearances across his 46 games played. Clement is also useful in deeper fantasy leagues with eligibility at first, second, third, and shortstop. He's rostered in just over half of Yahoo leagues.

Jackson Holliday Batting Seventh in Season Debut for O's on Tuesday
Baltimore Orioles second baseman Jackson Holliday (hand) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list on Monday before the series opener against the division-rival Tampa Bay Rays, but he didn't play. Holliday will start at second base and bat seventh in the lineup in his 2026 season debut against Rays right-hander Griffin Jax. The 22-year-old former first overall pick in 2022 needed surgery for a fractured hamate bone in his right hand in February, but he's just now making his season debut due to multiple setbacks he encountered while on his minor-league rehab assignment. Fantasy managers still holding Holliday have to be disappointed that he's hitting near the bottom of the batting order, but there is plenty of time to move his way up the lineup if he produces offensively. Don't be surprised if Holliday is slow to get back into a rhythm at the plate after slashing just .176/.291/.284 during his rehab assignment. Holliday is an emerging power/speed threat who is in just his second full season in the majors. He's currently rostered in 41% of Yahoo leagues, but he'll become a priority waiver addition if he starts putting up numbers in Baltimore.

Ceddanne Rafaela Returns Following Minor Hamstring Injury
Boston Red Sox outfielder Ceddanne Rafaela (hamstring) is back in center field and will bat out of the two-hole for Tuesday's game against the hosting Kansas City Royals and left-hander Bailey Falter, according to MLB.com. Rafaela was not in the starting nine for Monday's series opener against the Royals, but he entered as a defensive replacement, and now he's back in the starting lineup for Game 2 at Kauffman Stadium. Not only is the 25-year-old native of Cuacao one of the best defensive center fielders in the game, but he's also been one of Boston's best producers on offense, entering Tuesday's tilt with a .284/.354/.432 slash line with a .786 OPS, four home runs, 19 RBI, 18 runs scored, and three stolen bases across 45 games and 164 plate appearances. Rafaela has been even better in May, going 17-for-53 (.321) with three of his home runs, two doubles, nine RBI, three steals, and five runs scored in 16 games played. Get him back into your starting lineups in all traditional formats on Tuesday.

Gerrit Cole to Make Season Debut on Friday Against Rays
New York Yankees right-hander Gerrit Cole (elbow) will come off the 15-day injured list to make his 2026 season debut on Friday against the division-rival Tampa Bay Rays, manager Aaron Boone told Chris Kirschner of The Athletic. Cole missed the entire 2025 season after having Tommy John surgery last March. The 35-year-old former first overall pick in 2011 out of UCLA had a 4.66 ERA and 1.07 WHIP with 28 strikeouts, and only three walks in 29 innings over six minor-league rehab starts with High-A Hudson Valley, Double-A Somerset, and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He should not be limited from a pitch-count perspective in his season debut on Friday after throwing 86 pitches in 5 1/3 innings in his final rehab start last Saturday. However, fantasy managers should take a cautious approach with Cole in his first outing back in the big leagues against the first-place Rays. Cole was named the American League Cy Young winner in 2023, making him a must-roster veteran arm with strikeout upside, even though he's been away from the Yankees for a full year.

Masyn Winn Not Ready to Return From Knee Injury
St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Masyn Winn (knee) is still bothered by his knee injury and is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the division-rival Pittsburgh Pirates at Busch Stadium, according to MLB.com. Cesar Prieto will make the start at the 6 and bat seventh against Pirates right-hander Mitch Keller. Winn was pulled from Sunday's game against the Kansas City Royals early due to discomfort in his left knee, and he's still out of action despite the team having a day off on Monday. It's not the same knee that Winn had surgery on last September to fix a meniscus injury. For now, fantasy managers should continue to label him as day-to-day. The 24-year-old former second-rounder in 2020 offers a modest blend of power and speed at a premium position in fantasy baseball for the Red Birds. Through 41 games in 2026 in his third full season in the majors, Winn is hitting a mediocre .255/.331/.353 with a .684 OPS, only one homer, 17 RBI, 18 runs, and four stolen bases across 41 games and 175 plate appearances.

Ryan Jeffers to Have Hand Surgery, Expected to Miss 6-8 Weeks
Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers (hand) will have surgery to fix a broken hamate bone in his left hand and is expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks, general manager Jeremy Zoll told The Athletic's Aaron Gleeman. The Twins placed Jeffers on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday after he injured his hand in an at-bat late in Monday night's win over the visiting Houston Astros. It's a really tough break for Jeffers and the Twins, as he was hitting .295 (36-for-122) this year with seven home runs, 26 RBI, 26 runs scored, a stolen base, a .408 on-base percentage, a .541 slugging percentage, and a .949 OPS in 37 games across 148 plate appearances. In a best-case scenario, Jeffers might be able to return to the big-league roster in early July. In the meantime, veteran Victor Caratini should do most of the catching for the Twins, with Alex Jackson backing him up. Fantasy managers should be looking to avoid the catching situation in Minnesota with Jeffers out for an extended period of time.
