Jordan Reed 2019 Outlook: Is This the Year He Returns to Form?
6 years agoJordan Reed has had an up-and-down NFL career, to say the least. He was named to the Pro Bowl after the 2016 season and had Top-10 PPR TE finishes in 2015 and 2016. His talent is undeniable but he just can’t seem to stay on the field given his lengthy injury history. He’s dealt with concussions, hamstring strains, and foot issues for the better part of his career. In 2019 though, he heads into training camp 100% healthy and seems to have his foot issues under control. He is currently going undrafted in mock drafts so his production could certainly be for Week 1 to see if he is worth a waiver claim. The Redskins will likely roll with rookie QB Dwayne Haskins so we can see Reed being an easy target for the former Buckeye. In addition, the Redskins lost Jamison Crowder who got a lot of attention from Washington QBs. The remaining WRs for Washington are less than exciting so it’s conceivable that Reed could quickly gain Haskins trust and provide low-TE1/high TE2 value for cheap.
