NFL QB Power Rankings: All 32 Starting Quarterbacks for Week 17 Football (2025)

Sam Darnold - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL DFS Picks

Quincy's NFL QB power rankings for Week 17 of the 2025 season. He ranks all 32 starting NFL quarterbacks before Week 17, from Matthew Stafford to Brady Cook.

Week 16 featured quite a few backups playing big roles around the league. Gardner Minshew and eventually, Chris Oladokun led the way for the Chiefs, Brady Cook continued to start for the Jets, Quinn Ewers earned his first start in Miami, and Tyler Huntley made an appearance in Baltimore.

Despite all the backups around the league, we were treated to stellar play from some of the league’s stars. Brock Purdy dazzled with five touchdowns, and Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold went toe-to-toe on Thursday night. As NFL fans, it is always exciting to watch quarterbacks put up excellent numbers and dice up opposing defenses.

At this point in the season, quarterback play can elevate due to playoff pushes, job auditions, and incentives. With so much parity in the NFL this season, quarterback play in Week 17 will be that much more exciting. Let’s dive in and see where each quarterback stands as we head into the penultimate week of the season.

Editor's Note: Stay on top of your draft prep with RotoBaller’s fantasy football rankings, featuring expert analysis, ADPs, and draft insights for both PPR and non-PPR leagues.

No. 32: Brady Cook - New York Jets

Brady Cook looked out of his league in Week 16. He was harassed all day by a relentless Saints defense. Cook is clearly not the Jets' quarterback of the future, but perhaps he can play his way into a backup role with the team over the final two weeks of the season.

No. 31: Max Brosmer - Minnesota Vikings

Max Brosmer has been handed the reins as the Vikings' starting quarterback with J.J. McCarthy out with a hairline fracture in his finger. McCarthy seems unlikely to play again this season, meaning Brosmer will have a chance to prove himself as part of the Vikings' future quarterback plans.

No. 30: Geno Smith - Las Vegas Raiders

Geno Smith finally put together a solid performance in Week 16. However, the Raiders were still unable to earn a win. Smith's rough season got a little bright spot in Week 16, but he does not seem poised to return as the Raiders' starter in 2026.

No. 29: Quinn Ewers - Miami Dolphins

Quinn Ewers' debut game began with a bang. It looked like Ewers was poised to lead the Dolphins in a shootout with the Bengals. However, the Bengals' defense came alive in the second half and forced Ewers into quite a few errant throws. Still, Ewers looked like he could belong in the NFL.

No. 28: Chris Oladokun - Kansas City Chiefs

Following injuries to Patrick Mahomes and Gardner Minshew, the Chiefs turned to Chris Oladokun in Week 16. It looks like Oladakun will lead this team in their final two games of the season. The 28-year-old is receiving an audition for a backup quarterback job in 2026.

No. 27: Shedeur Sanders - Cleveland Browns

Shedeur Sanders toughed out injuries in a close loss to the Bills in Week 16. Sanders continues to be inconsistent, but he may show enough to the Browns that they will make him part of their 2026 quarterback plan.

No. 26: Cameron Ward - Tennessee Titans

Cameron Ward has come alive over the last few weeks of the season. Even against tough competition, Ward is putting up solid numbers. It has been a joy to watch him succeed after such an inauspicious start to his career. He led the Titans to a solid victory over a good, yet uninspired, Chiefs' defense in Week 16.

No. 25: Jaxson Dart - New York Giants

Jaxson Dart played terribly in Week 16. The Vikings' defense had Dart's number, and he struggled to move the offense down the field. Dart's early-season success is wearing off amidst injuries all over the Giants' offense.

No. 24: Josh Johnson - Washington Commanders

Marcus Mariota left Washington's Week 16 loss to the Eagles with a hand injury. Josh Johnson will now lead the way for the Commanders. Either way, the Commanders are fighting for their pride at this point in the midst of a lost season.

No. 23: Kirk Cousins - Atlanta Falcons

Kirk Cousins continues to play well in the absence of Michael Penix Jr. Cousins led the Falcons to another victory in Week 16, as they continue to try and salvage a very disappointing season. Still, question marks remain around Cousins' future with this team.

No. 22: Jacoby Brissett - Arizona Cardinals

Jacoby Brissett was unable to lead the Cardinals to victory in Week 16. Brissett had been on a hot streak of late, but he was relatively shut down by the Falcons this past week. Perhaps he can recover in Week 17.

No. 21: Philip Rivers - Indianapolis Colts

Philip Rivers and the Colts' offense looked unstoppable to begin Week 16. Ultimately, the team managed to score 27 points with Rivers slinging the ball around the yard. Unfortunately, the defense did not support Rivers and the offense, and an untimely pick-six thrown by Rivers sealed the Colts' fate.

No. 20: Tyler Shough - New Orleans Saints

Tyler Shough is continuing to cement himself as the Saints' quarterback of the future. He recorded the first 300-yard passing game of his young career in Week 16. Look for Shough to keep it rolling in Week 17 against the Titans.

No. 19: Aaron Rodgers - Pittsburgh Steelers

Aaron Rodgers was the veteran the Steelers needed in Week 16 as the team marched into Detroit and won. The Steelers now seem highly likely to win the AFC North and head to the playoffs. Rodgers will likely have one more chance to make a run in the playoffs.

No. 18: Baker Mayfield - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Baker Mayfield continues to falter down the stretch of the season. The Buccaneers are nearly fully healthy, but the offense continues to struggle. Mayfield will have his work cut out for him to guide this team to the playoffs.

No. 17: Bryce Young - Carolina Panthers

Bryce Young led the Panthers to a late victory over the Buccaneers in Week 16. The win places Carolina in control of its own destiny for a home playoff game. Young will face his toughest challenge of the season when the Seattle Seahawks' excellent passing defense comes to town in Week 17.

No. 16 C.J. Stroud - Houston Texans

C.J. Stroud had a quiet game in Week 16, but the Texans still all but clinched a playoff berth. Stroud and the Texans are rolling their way into the postseason, and they are one of the most dangerous teams entering the dance.

No. 15: Caleb Williams - Chicago Bears

Caleb Williams' clutch performances continue to mount. With his latest trick, Williams guided the Bears to the brink of an NFC North title with a massive win over the Packers in Week 16. Williams is entering the playoffs with the utmost confidence in himself.

No. 14: Lamar Jackson - Baltimore Ravens

Lamar Jackson left another game due to injury in Week 16, and he appears to be in grave danger of missing the final two regular-season games for the Ravens. This team still has a chance to make the playoffs, but they need Jackson if they want to have any shot at making some noise.

No. 13: Jalen Hurts - Philadelphia Eagles

Jalen Hurts is getting right at the right time. Hurts' connection with wide receiver A.J. Brown has returned, and he has guided the Eagles to a second straight NFC East title. Watch out for this team if Hurts continues to play this well.

No. 12: Jordan Love - Green Bay Packers

Jordan Love left Week 16 with a concussion, but he seems to be on track to retake the field in Week 17. The Packers need Love. They need to win one game to make the playoffs, but there exists a world where they miss the postseason altogether.

No. 11: Bo Nix - Denver Broncos

Bo Nix had been on a tear of late, but that ended in Week 16 against a Jaguars' defense that appears to be very legitimate this season. Nix needs to lock in over the last couple of weeks to secure the No. 1 seed in the AFC for Denver. This race is far from over.

No. 10: Joe Burrow - Cincinnati Bengals

Joe Burrow got back on track in Week 16 as the Bengals' offense lit up the Dolphins. Burrow and the Bengals are not playing for anything other than pride at this point, but the competitor in Burrow wants to win at all times. He will look to build on this performance in Week 17.

No. 9: Brock Purdy - San Francisco 49ers

Brock Purdy is officially on fire. His five touchdown passes on Monday night were sensational. The 49ers' offense is moving very efficiently, and they look like a squad ready to push for the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

No. 8: Trevor Lawrence - Jacksonville Jaguars

Trevor Lawrence has entered the stratosphere this season. His recent run of excellent play was confirmed to not be a fluke by his dominating the Broncos in Week 16. Watch out for the Jaguars with Lawrence playing at this level.

No. 7: Jared Goff - Detroit Lions

Jared Goff played a solid game in Week 16, but the Lions still dropped a loss to the Steelers. Goff is having another great statistical season, and his 32-to-5 touchdown-to-interception ratio is exceptional. Still, the Lions find themselves on the outside of the playoffs, with a slim chance of making it into a crowded NFC playoff picture.

No. 6: Justin Herbert - Los Angeles Chargers

Despite his continuing to play through a broken left hand, Justin Herbert could not be stopped by the Cowboys in Week 16. Herbert has guided the Chargers to a shot at the AFC West title for the first time since 2009. This guy's grit and talent could lead the Chargers to a Super Bowl this season.

No. 5: Sam Darnold - Seattle Seahawks

Sam Darnold looked like he was on his way to another terrible performance in Week 16, when he came alive in the second half and led the Seahawks to a victory. This team is now No. 1 in the NFC with control over its own destiny.

No. 4: Dak Prescott - Dallas Cowboys

Dak Prescott put up respectable numbers against the Chargers in Week 16, but Los Angeles still got the best of the Cowboys. Prescott and the offense continue to rack up points, but the Cowboys need to support Prescott with a solid defense in 2026.

No. 3: Drake Maye - New England Patriots

Drake Maye dominated the Ravens' defense in Week 16. He was dropping bombs all over the field, and he exceeded 300 passing yards for the first time this season. Maye has positioned the Patriots with a chance to grab the No. 1 seed. The road should not be too difficult with the Jets and the Dolphins looming over the next two weeks.

No. 2: Josh Allen - Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen did not play well in Week 16, but the Bills were still able to ride running back James Cook to victory. Allen left the game a bit banged up as well, but he seems likely to be back in the lineup in Week 17. Allen will look to lead the Bills to an AFC East title if they can catch the Patriots.

No. 1: Matthew Stafford - Los Angeles Rams

Matthew Stafford played lights out in Week 16, yet the Rams still lost to the Seahawks. Stafford is still a front-runner for the MVP award, and he.
