NBA DFS Lineup Picks and Sleepers - FantasyScore Advice for 12/12

All throughout the 2014-15 campaign, RotoBaller will be giving you the top NBA DFS lineup picks at the guard, forward and center positions as well as a couple of sleepers for the day. Below are our favorite picks for December 12th, 2014.

Keep in mind, fantasy basketball is a fickle game when it comes to injured players, so be sure to check all lineups prior to tip-off. If you want to chat about your roster picks, check out the DFS chat room at the bottom of this post.

Worth the Investment

Kyle Lowry (TOR, G) - $8,000

Much like Wednesday night, Friday’s games offer a buffet of juicy guard matchups.  John Wall is facing Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook tees off against the lowly Timberwolves and the always-point-guard-friendly Lakers are playing.  All of the above choices are worthy selections, but Lowry will get the nod as the favorite Friday night.

The Pacers have given up the most amount of FSP over the last five games to point guards, including a hefty portion in the all-important steals and assists categories.  Lowry has been on the downswing the last two games but the Raptors last game was a tough matchup for the point guard.  Do not anticipate the Indiana guards to put up as much a fight against Lowry on defense as Lowry remains the top outside scoring option and has incredible ability to see the open man.

Zach Randolph (MEM, F) - $6,000

Unleash the Z-Bo.  Randolph will more than likely square off against an over-matched Cody Zeller and/or a not-yet-100%-healthy Marvin Williams.  And at $6,000, Randolph’s budget is only 12 percent of the allotted cap, leaving more room to play the more esteemed players.

Z-Bo had a string of sub-par performances but appears to be back on the up-swing after his solid outing against Dallas on 12/9.  The law of averages usually prevails in these situations so expect a 40+ FSP game from the Memphis big man.

Andre Drummond (DET, C) - $5,800

Though Drummond has been solid, this selection is more of an indictment against the Phoenix defense against the center position.  The Suns are second only to Boston in fantasy points given up against the center position over the last 10 games.

Miles Plumlee will be slated with the task of shutting down Drummond and although Plumlee has played well this season, clearly Drummond is the better interior player and should clean up off the glass.

Top Sleepers

Mason Plumlee (BKN, C) - $3,800

With the injury to Brook Lopez, Plumlee will be the starting center in Brooklyn.  The Sixers will visit the Barclay Center and everyone knows that Philadelphia always remains a top DFS target.  Of course the Nets themselves have not exactly been lighting it up recently.

Plumlee is the best sleeper choice for Friday as 1) the Sixers remain near the top of the league in pace, so there will be plenty of scoring opportunities, 2) Philadelphia is still among the worst in defending the center position and 3) he is still slated at back-up value in terms of budget but is providing starter production.  If you want to start the stars tonight, go with Plumlee at center.

Cory Joseph (SAS, G) - $2,700

If you are feeling especially risky, the Spurs backup point guard just may provide a phenomenal return on investment in the matchup with the Lakers.  Los Angeles is allowing opposing PGs to drop 25.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 9.9 assists and 1.2 steals per game this season which is clearly not good.

Spurs starting point guard Tony Parker remains banged up and the Spurs will open as large favorites against the Lakers, so it’s reasonable to think that Joseph should get plenty of opportunities.  There’s no reason he can’t get a slice of that large PG pie being served by the Lakers.
