The Fantasy Football Expo always seems to go by so quickly. While catching up with the RotoBaller crew one night in Canton, the talk turned to kickers. This was the very same night Cam Little drilled a 70-yard field goal in preseason. So, yes, kicker talk was all around.
Kickers can make or break your fantasy season (or at least a game or two). We all have the horror stories of losing when your opponent's kicker has a big game. But we've also got those happy kicker memories, like the time I won my first fantasy football championship thanks to David Akers.
I don't need to drill this into your head. Kickers are important if you play in a league with kickers. I know people like to give the position a hard time, but kickers are fun (at least in my opinion). Let me go ahead and break down my top 10 kickers for fantasy football drafts to help you gain an edge, especially for those of you who dislike streaming kickers.

10. Matt Gay, Washington Commanders
Stability is something Washington needed in its kicking game, and the veteran addition of Matt Gay should provide it. He takes over a role that four different kickers cycled through in 2024.
Despite the kicking carousel, Washington kickers still attempted 47 extra points and 42 field goals. This suggests that Gay will have secure work this season. He offers safety in the kicking game, with career marks of 96.3% on extra points and 85.5% on field goals.

The Commanders moved on from Zane Gonzalez when they signed Gay, signaling full confidence in the former Pro Bowler. Gay has delivered steady production while with the Buccaneers, Colts, and Rams, so he performs no matter where he plays.
He’s not the flashiest kicker and won’t be elite, but he should still provide enough usability to break top-10 after finishing as the K14 last year. Fantasy managers know exactly what they're getting with him.
9. Jason Sanders, Miami Dolphins
Jason Sanders gave fantasy managers rock-solid results in 2024, as he finished as the K5 with 166 total fantasy points (9.8 points per game). The kicker provided nine double-digit scoring contests, including a huge 21-point performance in Week 16. His 37 made field goals were the most of his career.
He also displayed his dependability from 50-plus yards, connecting on 12-of-14 from that distance. Though he tallied just 26 extra points, this was more about volume than anything else. The Dolphins simply didn’t attempt many extra points, with just 28 tries.

Sanders had the fourth-most field goals made but only the 22nd-most extra point attempts (keep that in mind). Miami leaned on Sanders heavily when drives stalled in tricky spots, boosting the 29-year-old’s fantasy ceiling.
Entering his eighth year in the NFL, Sanders should be a top-10 option that benefits from warm-weather home games. If Tua Tagovailoa can stay on his feet, expect Sanders to stay busy in 2025, leading to a healthy amount of fantasy points.
8. Daniel Carlson, Las Vegas Raiders
Field goals kept Daniel Carlson relevant in 2024, as he ended the season with 34 makes on 40 tries (sixth-most in the league). Carlson was perfect inside the 40, but his accuracy dipped from further out.
He knocked in 6-of-8 field goals from 40-49 yards and 7-of-11 field goals from 50-plus. Carlson ranked just 28th in PATs, going 23-of-25. That speaks more to Las Vegas’ offensive struggles than his reliability, as the Raiders scored just 29 offensive touchdowns. For fantasy, he ended the season as the K10 with 145 fantasy points, averaging 8.5 per outing and posting seven double-digit games.

The arrival of Geno Smith at QB and rookie RB Ashton Jeanty could spark more scoring opportunities in 2025, which in turn benefits the kicker. Additionally, there are 12 indoor games on the schedule for the Raiders this year, so outside elements won't be a big issue.
Although Carlson hasn’t matched the All-Pro stretch he had in 2021 and 2022, he should lean more in that direction this season with an upgraded offense and more scoring chances. He needs to be drafted, not left for waivers.
7. Wil Lutz, Denver Broncos
Wil Lutz was another reliable kicker in 2024 who should be drafted in 2025. He connected on 31-of-34 field goals for a 91.2% rate, his best since 2018. That consistency carried over into extra points, where he was perfect.
Overall, Lutz finished the season as the K8. He posted seven double-digit outings, including a 22-point performance in Week 12. Lutz closed out the campaign with 146 fantasy points and an average of 9.4 points per contest. Those searching for steadiness at the position should consider Lutz as a strong option.

His leg is strong, with a 55-yard make and five conversions from 50-plus last year. Even more impressive, he was perfect on all 11 of his tries from 40-49 yards.
Denver’s offense is a great fit for the kicker (good enough to move the ball, but not so dominant that every drive ends in a touchdown). Remember, it’s Wil with one L because you're handing out the other L to your competition.
6. Ka'imi Fairbairn, Houston Texans
Fantasy managers searching for a lock at kicker last season got it in Ka’imi Fairbairn. The kicker finished as K4 in 2024, with 172 total fantasy points and an average of 10.1 fantasy points per game.
In 10 contests, Fairbairn posted double-digit fantasy points. He even achieved two separate four-week stretches of double-digit outputs. Across 42 attempts, he added 36 field goals (85.7%), including a long of 59 yards, while knocking in 33-of-35 extra points.

His range was impressive as well, connecting on 13-of-16 from 50-plus yards. His attempts from that distance were the second-most in the league behind Aubrey. Fairbairn has appeared in 123 games with Houston, converting 211-of-243 field goals and 240-of-259 extra points in his stellar career.
With 12 indoor games on the Texans’ schedule this season, he’ll be in ideal kicking environments. Houston, we have a problem, doesn’t apply to Fairbairn… so fantasy managers can draft him with confidence.
5. Chase McLaughlin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Consistency has become synonymous with veteran kicker Chase McLaughlin. In 2024, he ended the year as K6 with 164 total fantasy points, averaging 9.6 fantasy points per contest. The Illinois product tallied eight double-digit outings, but never topped 18 points in a game like some of the other kickers mentioned above.
Still, he rarely let fantasy managers down. McLaughlin made 30-of-32 field goals (93.8%) and connected on 54-of-56 extra point attempts, setting a personal best in field goal percentage. Both of the field goals he missed came from 50-plus yards, but he showed he could hit the long ones with a 56-yarder (career high is 57 yards).

Last year, the Buccaneers’ offense ranked fourth in the red zone, so volume tilted to extra points. McLaughlin still produced solid fantasy numbers.
At 29 years old, in his seventh season in the league, he’ll look to continue his kicker prowess. McLaughlin has stacked back-to-back seasons above 93% accuracy, proving he can be counted on whether the team needs him for PATs or XPs. That's the kind of stability you're looking for in a fantasy kicker.
4. Chris Boswell, Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers depended heavily on Chris Boswell in 2024, and he delivered a career season. Boswell connected on 93.2% of his attempts and earned first-team All-Pro honors in the process. He tied for the league lead in field goals made with 41, and from distance, he was almost automatic as he hit 13-of-15 field goals from 50-plus yards.
As a quiet weapon, the kicker posted 191 total points, 11.2 fantasy points per game, and a K2 finish behind… Aubrey. Boswell’s highlights included seven double-digit fantasy performances, with a 26-point explosion in Week 1 and a 24-point outing in Week 11.

The only issue with Boswell at the moment is contract drama. At 34, Boswell is seeking a new deal after being the lowest-paid AFC North kicker last season. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the kicker has pushed privately for an extension.
Given Boswell’s contributions and veteran status, I'd say he deserves it. While Ben Sauls has filled in during camp, Boswell is the K1 in that offense (so don't get any funny ideas). With Pittsburgh’s offense often having stalled drives, Boz is locked in as a major fantasy asset.
3. Jake Bates, Detroit Lions
From brick salesman to pro kicker, Jake Bates is one of the best stories in football. After making a name for himself in the UFL, hitting a 64-yard game-winner for the Michigan Panthers, Bates signed with the Lions in 2024.
He immediately won the starting job in camp when Michael Badgley went down with a hamstring tear. As the starter, he hit 26-of-29 field goals and 64-of-67 extra points, leading the league in extra points. Oh, and his 161 fantasy points last season ranked him seventh at the position.

Bates showed up in big moments, nailing three game-winners and displaying how clutch he is from distance. He knocked in 6-of-8 field goals from 50-plus with the longest being a 58-yarder. The 26-year-old set a single-season scoring record for the team, tallying 142 points.
The former soccer player is Detroit’s long-term answer at kicker, and he should be your answer for the 2025 season as well. Draft him before the kicker hoarder in your league does (because everyone knows there's always that one person in your casual home league).
2. Cameron Dicker, Los Angeles Chargers
Accurate and dependable. That’s what we like to hear when talking kickers. Those traits are found in Cameron Dicker, who has become a fantasy powerhouse for the Chargers.
In 2024, he knocked in 39 of 42 field goals (92.9%) and went 33-of-36 on extra points after being perfect in 2023. His 39 field goals were a franchise record and included a 59-yarder that tied the team's best. From out long, he drilled 9-of-11 field goals from 50-plus yards and 11-of-12 from 40-49 yards.

Fantasy managers were happy with his volume. He attempted 42 field goals, third-most in the NFL. Additionally, Dicker scored 179 fantasy points on the season. That includes 10 double-digit fantasy games and a Week 7 explosion in which he scored 21 points. Dicker the Kicker averaged 10.5 fantasy points per match, giving managers comfort at the position.
The Chargers are conservative on fourth downs, so they’ll settle for the easy field goal when drives slow down. That's great for fantasy managers, as this means bankable production. The undrafted free agent is firmly established as a top option in fantasy after his K3 finish last year.
1. Brandon Aubrey, Dallas Cowboys
Few kickers have made an impact in fantasy football the way Brandon Aubrey has over two seasons. After former Cowboys’ special teams coach John Fassel spotted Aubrey in the USFL, he helped develop the soccer player into the elite kicker he is today.
In 2024, Aubrey led all kickers with 192 fantasy points. His two 20-plus point explosions and 10 double-digit outings helped skyrocket him to the No. 1 overall fantasy kicker. Across 17 games, the 30-year-old connected on 40-of-47 field goals (85.1%) while going a perfect 30-of-30 on extra points. Money.

His range is one of the most elite in the league. The Pro Bowler converted 14-of-16 from 40-49 yards out, but impressed even more from further out. He drilled a 65-yarder last season and connected on 14-of-17 field goals from 50-plus yards.
Now entering the final season of his contract, Dallas is expected to secure an extension for the accurate kicker. Even during an 8-9 campaign, Aubrey stood out as a bright spot on the team. He’s going to run it back as a top guy in 2025. He'll probably be the first K drafted in fantasy, so you might have to pay up for him.
