Andy's fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 4 of 2025. His fantasy outlooks for Alvin Kamara, Quinshon Judkins, J.K. Dobbins, Cam Skattebo, D'Andre Swift.
Through the first three weeks of the NFL season, fantasy managers have seen many crowded backfields solidify, resulting in players earning a significant value increase.
In this piece, we will spotlight five running backs who have seen their value both increase and decrease over the opening month and determine if managers should start or sit them in Week 4.
So, should fantasy managers start Kamara, Judkins, Dobbins, Skattebo, and Swift in Week 4? Let's dive in and find out.

Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints
Week 3 stats: 18 carries for 42 yards, one reception for 14 yards
Despite playing on an underachieving New Orleans Saints team for the past few seasons, Alvin Kamara has consistently produced solid RB2 numbers. In 2024, Kamara was heavily involved in the passing attack and even logged a career-high number of rushing attempts.
However, the veteran RB has gotten off to a slow start in 2025 and is trending toward FLEX territory in Week 4. Through three games, Kamara has averaged just 12.8 PPR points per game. During this stretch, he has been targeted only 3.3 times per game and has given 16.7 rushing attempts per game.
On the ground, he averaged a low 3.7 YPC, which is on track to be the lowest mark of his career. With his lower receiving workload, Kamara not only carries a lower ceiling but a much lower floor this season as the Saints are not expected to be a potent offense.
Facing the Buffalo Bills in Week 4, Kamara carries low-end RB3/FLEX value. Even though the Bills have struggled to defend the run (allowing the 10th-most PPR points to opposing RBs), Kamara's lower receiving workload and inefficiency on the ground put him in FLEX territory. He is still worth starting in 12-team formats, but he does not carry the same upside as the other players in this piece.
Verdict: RB3/FLEX with low upside
Quinshon Judkins, RB, Cleveland Browns
Week 3 stats: 18 carries for 94 yards and a touchdown, one reception for one yard
After missing all of the preseason and the first week of the season, Quinshon Judkins made his long-awaited professional debut in Week 2 when the Browns faced the Ravens. Despite missing most of the offseason, Judkins was immediately given a significant workload. The former second-round pick led the team in rushing as he totaled 61 yards on 10 attempts.
However, in Week 3, Judkins saw his role grow even larger. Facing a tough Green Bay Packers defense, Judkins was given 18 carries and totaled 94 yards and a touchdown. He also caught one of his two targets for one yard. Despite ceding Week 1 opportunities to veteran running back Jerome Ford and fellow rookie Dylan Sampson, the Browns appear to view Judkins as their clear workhorse.
In their Week 3 victory, Judkins saw 58% of the team's snaps. In addition, Ford only saw four targets with no rushing attempts, while Sampson was given only one carry, further suggesting that Judkins is the clear workhorse on the roster.
Seeing him find success against Green Bay should not deter fantasy managers from locking him into your RB2 slot this weekend, facing Detroit. Even though the Lions have allowed the 11th-fewest PPR points to opposing RBs, Judkins's projected workload should keep him in RB2 stats. He should also be given all of the team's goal-line work and will have the upside to find the back of the end zone once again.

Verdict: RB2
J.K. Dobbins, RB, Denver Broncos
Week 3 stats: 11 carries for 83 yards and a touchdown, one reception for zero yards
While many expected rookie RJ Harvey to take over this backfield, the Broncos have instead leaned on the veteran, J.K. Dobbins. Through the first three games of the season, the former Charger has dominated the backfield, seeing 55% of the snaps, while Harvey has logged only 30%.
During his first three games as a Bronco, Dobbins has been very efficient on the ground, averaging 5.4 YPC with 74.0 rushing yards per game. He has found the back of the endzone in each contest and averaged a strong 15.2 PPR points per game.
Over the last two games, Dobbins has faced two top-12 defensive units (in terms of allowing PPR points to opposing RBs), and Dobbins has produced high-end RB2 numbers.
As a result, the 26-year-old appears primed for a massive showing in Week 4, facing the Cincinnati Bengals. Through three games, the Bengals have allowed the second-most PPR points to opposing RBs. Last week, they allowed Jordan Mason to tally 116 yards and two scores on the ground. In a game in which the Broncos will likely be playing from ahead, expect Dobbins to push for nearly 20 carries and reach high-end RB2 status.

Dobbins: “I ain’t out here to go for 800.”

Verdict: High-end RB2
Cam Skattebo, RB, New York Giants
Week 3 stats: 10 carries for 60 yards and a touchdown, six receptions for 61 yards
After missing almost the entire preseason with a hamstring injury, the Giants opted to ease Cam Skattebo into the NFL. In the season opener, the rookie running back took the clear backseat to second-year Tyrone Tracy Jr. However, in Week 2, Skattebo was quickly given a more prominent role.
In the season opener, Skattebo logged only two rushing attempts. In Week 2, the rookie took 11 carries for 45 yards and his first career touchdown. He also caught two of his three targets for 14 yards.
Then in Week 3, Tracy suffered a shoulder injury, which caused him to exit the game in the first half. This allowed the Arizona State product to dominate the backfield, seeing 10 carries and eight targets (six receptions) through the air.
However, even though his volume is secure with Tracy missing the next 2-4 games, his matchup is far from ideal. Skattebo and the Giants will face the Los Angeles Chargers, who have allowed the fewest PPR points to opposing RBs this season. While the Giants will lean on Skattebo in this game with rookie QB Jaxson Dart under center, which will keep him in RB2 territory, he will likely carry much less upside in this difficult matchup.

Verdict: RB2
D'Andre Swift, RB, Chicago Bears
Week 3 stats: 13 carries for 33 yards, three receptions for 45 yards
The final running back we will examine in this piece is the Chicago Bears' D'Andre Swift. Swift has operated as the team's primary workhorse throughout the opening month. In three games, Swift has logged 66% of the RB snaps and averaged 14.0 attempts per game with 4.0 yards per game.
Despite his solid workload, Swift has not been very effective. On the ground, he is averaging just 3.5 YPC, which is on pace to be the lowest mark of his career. In addition, he is averaging 49.7 rushing yards per game. Recently, the Bears have begun to provide rookie Kyle Monangai a slight increase in opportunities. However, he has also struggled and has been unable to take many opportunities away from Swift.
As a result, fantasy managers should continue to expect Swift to lead the Chicago backfield in a Week 4 title against the Las Vegas Raiders. Through three games, the Raiders have allowed the ninth-fewest PPR points to opposing RBs, which could present a difficult matchup for Swift.
Additionally, the 26-year-old is currently dealing with a hip injury and was also battling a quadriceps injury last weekend. If either injury continues to linger, he could be in danger of either sitting out or having a smaller role.
Despite this, his projected volume keeps him in low-end RB2 status in Week 4. While he may not carry the same upside as Dobbins does, his volume should provide him a strong opportunity to continue to meet his average 12.1 PPR points per game mark once again.
Verdict: Low-end RB2
