FanDuel DFS – MLB Lineup Picks, Sleepers and Advice for 8/17/15

There are just 10 games scheduled for Monday. Fortunately for the sake of lineup options and combinations, they're all under the lights, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 EDT.

My goal as always is to help you find matchups for your DFS lineups to help you win on FanDuel. Good luck tonight RotoBallers!

Editor’s Note: We have some awesome rest of season MLB DFS Services Premium Lineup Picks deals, that include all of our Premium DFS lineup picks, analysis and also exclusive access to all our other Premium tools, apps and resources. Get MLB DFS Premium and get an edge!

Offenses to Target for FanDuel Stacking

I'm not exactly floored by any of the stacking options - outside of the Yankees (and maybe the Indians) - but there are a few others at least worth mentioning.

Yankees versus Kyle Gibson

I'm hesitant to limit this to just lefty bats or just righty bats as I think any of the Yankees 1-7 hitters could make for a viable option. The Bronx Bombers offense was looking pretty dormant there for a little while but their bats have finally woken up, scoring 5 1/3 runs per game over their last three. They've also averaged more than 5 runs per game at home this season and are fourth in the majors facing right-handed pitchers with a wRC+ of 104 and the .428 slugging percentage isn't bad either.

Padres LHB versus Williams Perez

For obvious reasons (namely, they're the Padres and only average 3.76 runs per game at Petco) I'm hoping this could be an undervalued and overlooked stacking option. The game is being played in pitcher friendly San Diego, but Williams Perez has been abysmal over his last three starts, posting an 0-3 record, 7.85 ERA and 1.80 WHIP in that stretch. For the season, he's allowing a .369 wOBA and .460 slugging percentage to left-handed hitters and I think the Padres lefties (Yonder Alonso, Yangervis Solarte and Will Venable) should be able to do some damage.

Indians RHB versus Matt Barnes

Anytime an Over/Under for a game is listed at nine and on one side of the contest you have a great pitcher (this time in Danny Salazar), Vegas might be trying to tell you something. In this instance, I think they're expecting the Indians to jump all over Matt Barnes, he who allows a .683 slugging percentage and .471 wOBA to right-handed hitters.

Angels RHB versus Carlos Rodon

Carlos Rodon certainly has the potential to be a front end starter, but in the mean time, as he's struggling to retire batters, often falling behind and giving batters favorable counts, I'm going to pick on him with right-handed batter stacks. Tonight, the responsibility to make good on an opportunity against a pitcher that allows a .375 wOBA and .465 against right-handed batters falls on the shoulders of Johnny Giavotella, Shane Victorino, Mike Trout and Albert Pujols.

Honorable Mention: Rangers LHB versus Walker

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Roberto Perez (C, CLE) - $2,300

Should he get the start tonight, Perez is an incredible option at this price point. For his career, he's a .408 slugger against right-handed pitching and this season he has a .176 ISO and .316 wOBA in that respect. He shouldn't have much trouble picking on Matt Barnes, who has been torched by right handed hitters, allowing a .683 slugging percentage and .471 wOBA to righties.

Pedro Alvarez (1B, PIT) - $2,700

Alvarez' bat has been heating up and this evening's matchup with Jeremy Hellickson is a particularly juicy one. Pedro is a career .469 slugger against righties and over the past two weeks he's slugging .686 with three home runs. He should have nice lineup order value as well, as he's often slotted fifth when facing right-handers.

Dee Gordon (2B, MIA) - $3,300

Gordon and his Marlins teammates travel to a great hitters park in Milwaukee and get the pleasure of facing the always-hittable Matt Garza. Gordon is slugging .444 over the past two weeks and he should be a threat to steal a base or four when he gets on as runners are often successful in stolen base attempts when Garza is on the bump.

Matt Carpenter (3B, STL) - $4,000

If you aren't getting a third baseman out of one of your stacks (A-Rod, Solarte, etc), then Carpenter is most certainly your guy and he's a great cash game option, too. Carpenter has a .390 OBP for his career against righties and is slugging .680 with five home runs over the past two weeks.

Francisco Lindor (SS, CLE) - $3,100

Considering his lineup position value and the fact he's facing off against Matt Barnes, this is a pretty fair price - perhaps even a bit of a steal. Lindor has been on a tear of late as well, hitting .380 over the past 14 days of action.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Mitch Moreland (OF, TEX) - $3,100

I love me some Mitch Moreland against a right-hander in Arlington in the hot, sticky humidity of August. Walker has been a fairly good pitcher thus far, but he's prone to implosion, and I really like Moreland's price and the fact he's got a .395 batting average over the last two weeks paired with a career .472 slugging percentage against RHP.

Cole Gillespie (OF, MIA) - $2,600

Perhaps a bit more expensive than a play you'd consider a "punt", but I like his value a lot in Milwaukee against Garza. He's got nice numbers against RHP and a .400 batting average in the last 14 days.

Michael Brantley (OF, CLE) - $4,000

Brantley has been scorching hot, hitting .455 over the past two weeks and his .440 career slugging percentage against RHP isn't too bad either.

Ichiro Suzuki (OF, MIA) - $2,600

Speaking of hot streaks, I'm not quite sure where this power plug has come from in Ichiro's bat, but might as well ride it out against Garza. Suzuki has a .460 slugging percentage over the past two weeks and gets a nice park factor bump this evening.
