It's time for Week 12 of the 2025 NFL season. Right around Thanksgiving is when things really start to heat up, where every matchup feels like it means a little more.
That's where my Week 12 bold predictions come in. I'm targeting a few fringe players who I believe are in a strong position for a spike week. The goal is to help you find upside to win your matchup.
That's where my Week 12 bold predictions can provide assistance. This is where I'm trying to lock in five players to have spike weeks (blowup games). Last week was an absolute disaster in this column, as I was high on Tua Tagovailoa, Aaron Rodgers, RJ Harvey, Woody Marks, Ricky Pearsall, and Keon Coleman. I went 0-for-6 with six strikeouts, but all that means is that I'm in for a huge bounce back in Week 12. With that in mind, find out why Tyler Shough, Kenneth Walker, David Montgomery, Michael Wilson, and Darnell Mooney are in my Week 12 bold predictions.

Tyler Shough Throws for 250+ Yards
Shough is coming off a great game against the Panthers before the Week 11 bye. The rookie completed 19-of-27 passes for 282 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 10.4 yards per attempt in an upset win.

Up next is a terrific matchup against the Falcons, who just got picked apart by Bryce Young for 448 yards and three touchdowns.
With how good Shough looked against Carolina, we could see him get to 250+ yards in this spot.
If you're in a SuperFlex league with a clear need at QB2 with Justin Herbert on a bye, Shough makes sense to roll the dice. I also like going with Shough as a sneaky tournament play in DFS as well, as he provides significant salary relief.

Kenneth Walker Rushes for 100+ Yards
Walker has rushed for 66 yards or more in three of his last four games. We saw him find the end zone against a tough Rams defense last week. Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald praised Walker for his performance this week, saying that he's earning more touches.

It's about time, as Walker has been much more efficient than Zach Charbonnet this season.
This is a terrific spot against the Titans, as the Seahawks are double-digit favorites. It sets up as a positive game script, where Seattle can control the clock on the ground with a big lead. Seattle has an elite defense, so it's hard to see struggling rookie quarterback Cam Ward show any improvement in this matchup.
We've seen some running backs gash this defense, including Rhamondre Stevenson earlier this year. With the Titans struggling to move the ball, that could mean more possessions for Seattle, which would give Walker more chances to break a big run. He's got the big-play ability to make it happen.
After what's been a frustrating season for a talented player, there seem to be better days ahead. Even though he enters this game with a questionable tag, reports suggest the Michigan State product will suit up on Sunday.
David Montgomery Rushes for 100+ Yards
Montgomery has taken more of a backseat to Jahmyr Gibbs this year. However, Week 12 feels like a good spot for the veteran running back to get back in the circle of trust.
For one, it's a terrific matchup against the Giants, who rank 32nd in Rush EPA. We've seen them get gashed by D'Andre Swift in recent weeks. With the Lions as double-digit home favorites, it sets up as a positive game script for Montgomery. We're likely to see the Lions control this game, resulting in more rushing volume.
While obviously Gibbs has more upside, there's a chance that we see a bit more Montgomery than usual here. If the Lions have a large lead, they'll give more touches to Montgomery. On top of that, head coach Dan Campbell spoke publicly about how they want to give Montgomery more carries. This is the perfect matchup to do so.

We've seen Montgomery show a high ceiling at times this year, such as against the Ravens, where he rushed for 150+ yards. I'm betting that we once again see a big performance here.
Michael Wilson Puts Up 100+ Receiving Yards
I ranked Wilson as an upside WR3 last week, but he absolutely smashed those expectations, catching 15-of-18 targets for 185 yards. That was a shocking result for a role player who was thrust into heavier usage. It makes me wonder: what if Wilson was always a talented wideout, but just never had an opportunity in this vanilla offense that could only support two pass-catchers?
In a league where Rico Dowdle has turned into a game-breaking running back, or where Jauan Jennings burst onto the scene after being parked on the bench for years, why can't Wilson be a valuable contributor for multiple games?

Marvin Harrison Jr. is out for another game, so Wilson could once again get peppered with targets. The Cardinals have gone pass-heavy with Jacoby Brissett under center. With the Jaguars having a stout run defense, we could see more of the same here.
In one of my leagues, I'm benching Justin Jefferson for Wilson, which gives you a sense of my thoughts on the Cardinals' wideout this week. Don't be surprised if he provides top-24 value for the second week in a row.
Darnell Mooney Puts Up 100+ Receiving Yards
Mooney has been held back by injury this season, eclipsing 60 yards only once in eight games. However, Mooney is starting to get more involved in the offense, racking up seven and eight targets in his last two games.
We also saw the Falcons' coaching staff talk about how Mooney will eventually start to get more looks. Well, this feels like the perfect week for that to happen, as Drake London is out this week.
The last time that happened, Mooney gave us a dud vs the Dolphins. However, with the uptick in targets recently, that tells me Mooney is starting to find his groove.
I'm betting that we see Mooney have his best game of the season here. It's an exploitable matchup against the Saints, who aren't a matchup to fear on defense.

On top of that, Kirk Cousins is starting. Unlike Michael Penix Jr., who likes to lock in on London, Cousins has spread it around more to Mooney. In a game without London, I'm betting that Cousins will pepper Mooney with targets.
