Darrynton Evans 2020 Outlook: More Than A Handcuff?
5 years agoTennessee Titans running back Darrynton Evans will likely begin the season as the No. 2 option on the team's depth chart after being selected in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. While the 21-year-old will likely be relegated to claiming the leftover scraps from Pro Bowler Derrick Henry, he could serve as a useful change-of-pace option throughout the year in a run-first offense and behind one of the league's most efficient offensive lines. He does have appeal as a late-round handcuff in redraft leagues, with his stock rising even more as a mid-round dynasty option. However, don't expect significant fantasy contributions right off the bat in all formats, a trend that should continue throughout the year as long as Henry remains healthy. The former Mountaineer compiled 2,884 yards and 25 touchdowns on the ground throughout three seasons at Appalachian State, where he was also named the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year in 2019.
