49ers Interested In Re-Signing Raheem Mostert
3 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers have shown interest in re-signing veteran running back Raheem Mostert, according to his agent, Brett Tessler. Mostert is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent at the beginning of the new league year next month. The 29-year-old played four snaps in the season-opener last year before suffering a knee injury that required season-ending surgery. Part of Mostert's cartilage was damaged enough to leave a quarter-sized hole that needed to be fixed. He led the team in rushing with 772 yards and eight touchdowns on 137 carries in 2019, but he played in only eight games in 2020 due to an MCL sprain and two high ankle sprains. Because of his injury history, re-signing with the Niners may be his best move. But if he returns, he could be the No. 2 back behind Elijah Mitchell, who impressed in his rookie season.
