Should I start Xavier Worthy, Jakobi Meyers, Jauan Jennings for Week 7? Fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks and recommendations for the 2025 NFL season.
It's fortunate that the wide receiver position typically has more players who are likely to have boom games on benches than happens for running backs. Teams often have four or five receivers who have stretches of startable fantasy production.
Kansas City Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy, San Francisco 49ers WR Jauan Jennings (ribs, ankle, shoulder), and Las Vegas Raiders wideout Jakobi Meyers (knee, toe) are a little higher than fourth and fifth on their depth charts, so there's more reason to believe they're relevant.
But all three have been prone to disappointing games, so it's not easy to know whether you should put them in your lineups. So let's dive into start/sit decisions for each!

Should I Start Xavier Worthy for Fantasy Football?
Worthy won't be the Chiefs' No. 1 receiver moving forward. The long-awaited return of Kansas City's real WR1, Rashee Rice, is upon us -- his six-game suspension has ended, and he's set to take the field for Week 7. He'll get a full workload.
But the question is more of where his targets will come from. While Worthy is seen as a deep threat, he simply hasn't been that at any point in his career. He's more of a gadget player, though he is fine as a field stretcher. Worthy's deep ball stats were just not good last season.
In 2024, Xavier Worthy had a total of 120 receiving yards on three catches on passes with a Depth of Target of 20 yards or more. He has not been a deep threat at all in his career. Maybe that changes, but he hasn't earned his reputation by actually producing, just running 4.21

He's the Chiefs' WR2, though, and while Rice will likely lead in targets and receiving yards in almost all the games they play in, there's a boom/bust WR2 ceiling for Worthy. I can't argue that he'll make a lot of deep catches, because he's never done so, but the occasional big play could happen.
He's playing all this year with a torn labrum, though, so the Chiefs might opt to manage his workload by feeding him fewer targets in games. It's Rice who's likely to have the massive games, but Worthy is still worth a flex starting spot in your lineup in a good, pass-heavy offense for now.
Should I Start Jakobi Meyers for Fantasy Football?
Meyers was held out of practice with knee and toe injuries on Wednesday and Thursday while speculation swirled that he was a potential trade target for WR-needy teams. Meyers requested a trade in the offseason, but was denied at that point.
The Raiders drafted WR Jack Bech, who has a substantial skill-set overlap with Meyers, so it would make sense if the team opted to move him. But Meyers practiced in a limited fashion on Friday and is questionable for Sunday's game. It looks like he might actually play.

It's probably not a great idea to start him, though. Meyers' production has tanked in recent weeks, even though target hog tight end Brock Bowers (knee) is out with a knee injury. Meyers was heavily targeted in his first few games, so it was both surprising and disappointing that he saw such a quick and stark falloff in usage.
Raiders quarterback Geno Smith has been targeting WR Tre Tucker at a higher rate, and with some time, he could become the team's WR1. Meyers is a tough player to start, especially considering he's questionable to play this week and only logged one limited practice. He could be on a pitch count even if he takes the field.
Probably better to find someone else to start outside of deep leagues.
Should I Start Jauan Jennings for Fantasy Football?
It's hard for me to be comfortable starting Jennings again at any point this season. He's dealing with a multitude of injuries -- high and low ankle sprains, five broken ribs, and one shoulder that he claims is "at 20 percent" of its usual strength or function.
NFL players constantly play through injuries that any reasonable doctor would be very concerned about. Jennings is playing through at least eight total injuries (each broken rib, two ankle sprains, and a shoulder injury) that medical professionals would be concerned about.
The table is set for rookie 49ers WR Jordan Watkins to be active for the first time in his NFL career. SF's 5 active WRs on SNF project to be:
Kendrick Bourne
Jauan Jennings

Yet Jennings is set to play in Week 7. It's hard for me to trust him in starting lineups, though. It's unclear why he's even on the field. It seems like it would be better to put him on injured reserve. It's a testament to his toughness, but playing through such severe ailments can limit fantasy production.
I'd leave Jennings on the bench for now, until he shows that he can produce playing through such pain. It seems that 49ers quarterback Mac Jones (knee, oblique) prefers to target wide receiver Kendrick Bourne the most heavily of the wideouts, possibly because the two built rapport in New England.
