Houston Texans wide receiver Christian Kirk (hamstring) has been ruled out ahead of the Week 8 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Unsurprisingly, Kirk will sit out this weekend after not practicing all week. It has been an injury plagued season for Kirk who has only managed to play in three games. The Texans will also be without Nico Collins (concussion), which will leave them shorthanded on offense. The expectation is that Xavier Hutchinson, Jayden Higgins, and Jaylin Noel will be asked to step up. Between the three, Noel offers the most upside after hauling in four receptions for 77 yards last week.--Andy Webb

The Houston Texans have officially ruled out wide receiver Nico Collins (concussion) for the Week 8 contest this Sunday against the visiting San Francisco 49ers, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Collins suffered a concussion in the second half of the Monday night loss to the Seattle Seahawks and was unable to practice all week due to his head injury. In addition to Collins, Christian Kirk (hamstring) will miss a second straight game, meaning rookies Jaylin Noel and Jayden Higgins, and Xavier Hutchinson will all see boosted roles in Houston's passing attack this weekend. It's unclear if Collins will be able to clear the league's concussion protocol next week to make his return in Week 9 on Sunday, Nov. 2, against the Denver Broncos. Noel and Higgins will be on the WR4/flex radar for fantasy managers with the bye-week blues in Week 8, with six teams on bye.--Keith Hernandez

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson fell just shy of 100 yards from scrimmage for the first time this season in Week 7's 20-10 loss to the 49ers, tallying 92 total yards in the contest. Despite not reaching the century mark, the 23-year-old found the end zone for the third consecutive week and continued to see heavy volume in the passing game with eight targets and six catches. There should be little problem getting back over the 100-yard threshold in Week 8, as it brings a home matchup against a Miami defense that has shown little resistance to the run, ranking dead last in opponent rush yards allowed per game (159.3) and has yielded the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs thus far. Tyler Allgeier (hip/knee) has been limited in practice all week, and if he ends up missing the game, Robinson could see an even bigger workload than normal. Regardless, even with his normal usage, the third-year pro still projects as the top option at running back this week in such a favorable matchup.--Jarod Rupp

New York Jets wide receiver Josh Reynolds (hip) is officially listed as questionable to play on Sunday in Week 8 versus the hosting Cincinnati Bengals, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN. Reynolds was supposed to be limited in Friday's practice, according to head coach Aaron Glenn, but he was unable to suit up. This is pretty concerning for an 0-7 Jets squad that already ruled out top wideout Garrett Wilson (knee) for the second straight game. If Reynolds ends up being inactive, too, the Jets would be down to Arian Smith, Allen Lazard, and Tyler Johnson as their top receivers, with veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor (knee) presumably starting under center. Even against a very beatable Bengals defense, the Jets could be headed for a third straight game without an offensive touchdown. Reynolds led the team in targets in last week's loss to the Panthers with Wilson out, but he caught only three of his nine looks for 29 yards and no touchdowns.--Keith Hernandez

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton has stepped up for this offense over the last few weeks. The Bucs are down multiple offensive players and Otton has been able to make a difference on offense. Last week, Otton hauled in seven of his nine targets for 65 yards in the loss to the Detroit Lions. The 26-year-old has finished with 50 receiving yards or more in each of the last three games. This offense is without Mike Evans (collarbone), Chris Godwin (leg), and Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder) for the Week 8 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Given the Bucs' injuries and the amount of teams on a bye this weekend. Otton should be treated as a TE1 for this favorable matchup against the Saints defense.--Andy Webb

New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn refused to name a starting quarterback for the team's Week 8 contest this Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN. After Glenn benched Justin Fields at halftime in last Sunday's loss to the Carolina Panthers, it has been unclear if the team will go with veteran Tyrod Taylor (knee), who is listed as questionable in Week 8, for this weekend's game. According to sources, Glenn was leaning toward Taylor as the starter early in the week. However, since then, Taylor has been limited in practices with a knee injury. Glenn got testy with reporters on Friday who continued to press him on the matter of the QB decision for this weekend's contest. Although Taylor is questionable, Glenn said that he likes the way he's trending. Regardless of who starts under center for the Jets against Cincy, they won't have star receiver Garrett Wilson (knee) for the second straight week. The 0-7 Jets haven't scored a touchdown in their last two games on offense.--Keith Hernandez

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Sterling Shepard figures to continue seeing an increased workload this weekend. The Bucs are still without multiple wideouts, so Shepard should see more targets. Last week, Shepard saw a season-high seven targets in the loss to the Detroit Lions. He hauled in all seven of them for 25 yards, so the lack of yardage really hurt his value in low PPR formats. The fact he saw seven targets is a good sign heading into the Week 8 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. The 32-year-old should continue to see the ball coming his way, but he needs to do more after the catch. Fantasy managers in desperate need of help this weekend should look at Shepard as a possible flex option.--Andy Webb

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that the team could open wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk's (knee) 21-day practice window next week, according to David Lombardi of The San Francisco Standard. Even if Aiyuk doesn't resume practicing next week, the team is in "week-to-week mode now" in terms of when they will designate him to return from the Physically Unable to Perform list. The 27-year-old has been out all year as he recovers from a devastating right-knee injury that he suffered in Week 7 of 2024. He is getting close to rejoining the team on the practice field, but Aiyuk's return to game action on Sundays may still be a ways off. The former first-rounder is worth stashing in all fantasy leagues, but expectations must be tempered as the Niners continue to slow-play his return. Jauan Jennings and Kendrick Bourne will serve as the top receivers for San Fran again in Week 8, with Ricky Pearsall (knee) missing a fourth straight game.--Keith Hernandez

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Tez Johnson has been a nice surprise for this offense over the last few weeks. This team is down multiple wideouts, but Johnson has stepped up and delivered lately. The rookie wideout saw nine targets during last week's loss to the Detroit Lions. He hauled in four of them for 58 yards and a touchdown. The 23-year-old has scored in back-to-back games, so he'll look to extend that streak against the New Orleans Saints in Week 8. Emeka Egbuka (hamstring) is ready to go, so Johnson should fall into the No. 2 role in the passing game. There should be enough upside here to plug in Johnson as a WR3 for this weekend.--Andy Webb

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Emeka Egbuka (hamstring) has been cleared to suit up for the Week 8 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Egbuka suffered a hamstring injury in Week 6, but still suited up during last Monday's game against the Detroit Lions. The rookie wideout struggled as he hauled in four of his 12 targets for 58 yards in the loss. The hope is that Egbuka is close to 100 percent healthy now. The Bucs will need him to be the focal point on offense with Mike Evans (collarbone), Chris Godwin (leg), and Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder) all sidelined. Egbuka was on a roll before this injury, so he should be viewed as a must-start WR1 this weekend.--Andy Webb

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall (knee) has officially been ruled out for the Week 8 contest against the hosting Houston Texans on Sunday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Pearsall, who has not practiced at all since suffering a PCL sprain in his knee in Week 4, will miss a fourth straight game this weekend. The fact that the 25-year-old has yet to practice suggests that he could be trending towards missing a fifth straight contest next week when the team takes on the New York Giants on the road. When healthy, the former first-rounder will be a big part of the Niners' offense, but the problem is he's proven to be quite injury-prone early in his NFL career. Jauan Jennings and Kendrick Bourne will continue to operate as the team's top two receivers, but running back Christian McCaffrey has been backup quarterback Mac Jones' top target with QB Brock Purdy (toe) sidelined.--Keith Hernandez

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Sean Tucker hasn't been able to bring much to the table over the last few weeks. Tucker has moved up the depth chart to the No. 2 option behind Rachaad White in recent weeks. That should remain the same in Week 8 with Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder) still sidelined. Despite that, Tucker hasn't been able to find much success on the field. Last week, Tucker rushed one time for four yards and hauled in one reception for two yards in the loss to the Detroit Lions. The hope is that Tucker will be more involved against the New Orleans Saints in Week 8. However, fantasy managers shouldn't count on him considering he has 10 total carries over the last three games. It's obvious that the Bucs trust White with a majority of the carries in the backfield, so Tucker isn't going to offer much value.--Andy Webb

The San Francisco 49ers officially ruled out quarterback Brock Purdy (toe) for the Week 8 game at the Houston Texans this Sunday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Mac Jones will make yet another start. Purdy has not played since aggravating his turf-toe injury in Week 4 and has only played in two games so far in 2025. While he's been improving, Purdy has yet to upgrade to a full practice. His next chance to return will be in Week 9 on Sunday, Nov. 2, against the New York Giants. While it's been a frustrating year for anyone who drafted the 25-year-old signal-caller in fantasy, Purdy should be in play as a top-12 fantasy QB as soon as he's ready to return to the starting gig. In the meantime, Jones will make his sixth start of the year. The former first-rounder has been adequate as a fill-in for San Fran, but he's mostly been a low-end QB2 in fantasy with only six touchdown passes and four interceptions.--Keith Hernandez

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White is coming off a lackluster performance against the Detroit Lions last week. White rushed 10 times for 38 yards, while hauling in four receptions for an additional six yards through the air. The Bucs were playing from behind for basically the entire game, so they were exactly committed to the rushing attack. White will remain the lead back for at least one more week with Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder) still sidelined. The assumption is that White will bounce back against the shaky New Orleans Saints defense. White should be able to offer high-end RB2 value for this weekend.--Andy Webb

Green Bay Packers rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden (hip) was added to Friday's injury report and was a limited participant in practice, according to the team. The severity of Golden's injury is currently unknown, but a late-week addition to the injury report isn't ideal and puts his status in question for Sunday Night Football against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The first-round pick out of Texas has been highly efficient so far this season, recording 18 receptions for 249 yards on 23 targets. He is still searching for his first career touchdown, but he will get a good opportunity to find the end zone in Week 8 if he can suit up. The Steelers have allowed the ninth most PPR points per game to opposing wide receivers, and just allowed Ja'Marr Chase to rack up 16 catches for 161 yards and a touchdown in Week 7.--Kyle McCarthy
