Isaiah Likely 2023 NFL Player Outlook: Handcuff To Andrews?
2 years agoBaltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely made noise during the preseason in his 2022 rookie year. In his first preseason action, Likely had four catches for 44 yards. He then racked up eight catches for 100 yards and a touchdown the following week. The 23-year-old turned heads quickly in Baltimore after being selected in the fourth round. The only problem was he was the backup to star tight end, Mark Andrews. Likely would see a few opportunities stuck behind the All-Pro tight end. But when Andrews was hurt, the rookie tight end was an easy replacement. In three games as the TE1, Likely averaged 15.8 PPR fantasy points to go with two top-three tight end finishes. He had 15 catches for 204 yards and touchdowns in those three games. The second-year tight end will be behind Andrews again in the Ravens' offense. However, he could be a solid handcuff to Andrews in 2023. Handcuffing tight ends might sound strange, but no doubt Likely is a talented backup option. He produced in all three games without Andrews last season, and if the All-Pro missed more games in 2023, Likely would be an easy TE1 fill-in.
