Denzel Mims 2021 Outlook: This is Why He's Hot
4 years agoBefore we get to Denzel Mims' fantasy outlook, did you really expect anything different in the title? I know, I'll show myself out. Anyway, Mims enters 2021 following a disappointing rookie season derailed by a combination of injury and Sam Darnold being bad at football. Mims posted just 357 receiving yards on 23 receptions in nine games. Now in his second season, Mims is going to start opposite Corey Davis for new rookie quarterback Zach Wilson, who can't possibly be worse than Darnold. If we assume Wilson is a substantial upgrade, which he should be, Mims has the size and athleticism to be a true alpha in the NFL. Whether he ever realizes his potential remains to be seen, but the fact that it is there makes him an intriguing late round dart throw in fantasy drafts. You can select Mims as the final wide receiver on your fantasy team. If he pans out, you've got yourself a WR3 for free. If not, you can drop him and he cost you next to nothing. Not many players in the last few rounds of fantasy drafts ooze the potential that Mims does. He's the type of no downside pick you should look to make.
