DeAndre Washington 2020 Outlook: Former Raider Has A Lot Of Bodies In Front Of Him
5 years agoDeAndre Washington left the Raiders this offseason and joined the division-rival Chiefs on a one-year pact. Washington, a fifth-round pick in 2016, set career highs in carries (108), rushing touchdowns (three), catches (36) and receiving yards (292) in 16 games (three starts) in 2019. Even before the Chiefs drafted rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire in the first round, Washington figured to be in competition with Darwin Thompson and Darrel Williams for a role behind Damien Williams in the Chiefs backfield. Something will have to give at the end of the running back depth chart, but even if the 27-year-old Washington makes the final roster, he's unlikely to have much of a role in his new home. It would take several injuries to KC's backfield for the former Raider to become a waiver wire consideration in most leagues.
