Bijan Robinson 2023 NFL Player Outlook: Exciting Rookie With Unlimited Upside
1 year agoAtlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson landed in the perfect fantasy spot. After being selected eighth overall in the 2023 NFL Draft, Robinson goes to a team that's identity is to run the football. Atlanta ran the ball 55.3% of the time last season -- second most in the NFL -- which helped 2022 fifth-round rookie Tyler Allgeier rush for over 1,000 yards. If that running pace continues this season, Robinson should easily finish as a top-three fantasy running back in year one. The former Texas Longhorn ran for 1,580 yards and 18 touchdowns in his final college season and became the highest running back drafted since Saquon Barkley (second overall) in 2018. In his rookie season, Barkley finished as the RB1 in PPR formats. That same success is possible for Robinson this year. Seeing how much Allgeier eats into the rookie's workload will be interesting. But given his high draft capital, the Falcons will likely give Robinson a full workload every week. First-year running backs sometimes need help to trust in fantasy football. However, Robinson's talent/upside in Atlanta's offense makes him an easy first-round pick in 2023. He's ranked 11th overall on RotoBaller.
