Should I start Wan'Dale Robinson, Darius Slayton, Keenan Allen for Week 5? Fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks and recommendations for the 2025 NFL season.
New York Giants wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson, his teammate and fellow WR Darius Slayton, and Los Angeles Chargers wideout Keenan Allen are three players in what look like crowded rooms at their position that fantasy managers are considering starting for Week 5.
All three have reasonable cases to be made for their upside, but there's also risk in starting them. The Giants in particular have a ton of question marks after a shake-up at the quarterback position.
But leaning into uncertainty can sometimes help you make great decisions in fantasy football. So should you start Robinson, Slayton, or Allen in Week 5? Let's dive in.

Should I Start Wan'Dale Robinson for Fantasy Football?
Robinson is set to get more work in the passing game after the season-ending torn ACL that their WR1, Malik Nabers (knee), suffered. His season is over. Robinson has been a bit of a "PPR Scam" type of player for a while now -- someone that earns a lot of targets and makes a lot of receptions relative to yards gained.
Robinson was targeted 8.2 times per game in 2024, 12th most in the league among wide receivers, yet he averaged just 7.5 yards per catch, easily last among all wide receiver with 60 or more catches. Even Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane averaged more yards per reception.

Robinson is perhaps the least deserving of his target volume of the players that get the ball so much. He's not bad in short-yardage situations, but struggles to win downfield. A fluky game against the awful Dallas Cowboys defense doesn't change that.
But with Nabers out, he's likely to get more work. He also has a tough matchup against the New Orleans Saints in Week 5 -- they've allowed the second-fewest fantasy points scored to opposing slot receivers in the NFL. I think I'd leave Robinson on the bench for now.
Of course, new Giants starting quarterback Jaxson Dart could have a great game, but I'd rather go with other WR options for now. Robinson shouldn't be dropped, but I'd not be comfortable starting him yet.
Should I Start Darius Slayton for Fantasy Football?
Slayton is a player I'd rather put in my starting lineups than Robinson. He plays more out wide, and the Saints have been very vulnerable to receivers out wide, allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to receivers playing out wide.
Slayton should have had a long touchdown catch in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers, but he was held on the play -- it drew a flag from the officials, but didn't count for any points for him. He could have had a nice day otherwise, and against New Orleans, he could very well break out.
Love this from Jaxson Dart. He was pressured mercilessly by the Chargers, and he never folded up. Here, he directs Darius Slayton back to the void on a scramble drill, and converts third-and-6 from his own five-yard line. pic.twitter.com/uuigRBPoQu

Slayton had a few nice games last season when Nabers was injured, but he also has a long history before that of poor production and fantasy irrelevancy. Dart could change that, of course, but he's a risky player to start in Week 5. If you're desperate for a bye week fill-in or someone to replace an injured starter, he has some upside.
Should I Start Keenan Allen for Fantasy Football?
Allen should probably not be benched just yet, but it's hard to see things continuing as they are for Los Angeles in terms of how their receivers are scoring. WR Quentin Johnston has had a massive breakout -- he's caught 22 of his 37 targets for 337 yards and four touchdowns. He's the WR4 overall in PPR leagues.
Allen's seen 35 targets, hauling in 24 for 231 yards and three scores. Meanwhile, the team's WR1 last year, Ladd McConkey, has caught 16 of his 27 looks for 174 yards and zero scores. Such a turn of events is strange, and it seems reasonable that McConkey could get back on track at some point.

Allen is still a very skilled receiver that's clearly not fallen off yet, and is in a very pass-heavy offense. Against the Washington Commanders, who have struggled defending opposing receivers and been gashed through the air this season, he's a good player to start.
