Tobias Myers - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Starting pitcher two-start streamers for Week 18 (2024). Fantasy baseball SP waiver wire pickups for pitchers with two starts scheduled in the week ahead, July 22 to July 28.

Welcome RotoBallers to our Two-Start Pitcher Streamers article - Waiver Wire Streamers and Starts for Week 18, from July 22 to July 28. With multiple teams having six or seven games on their schedule, we're looking at a nice variety of two-start pitchers.

Each week of this fantasy baseball season, this fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups column will identify starting pitchers expected to make two starts in the upcoming week. It can be considered as fantasy baseball streamers ahead of the Sunday night waiver wire run for leagues with weekly transactions.

There are 36 pitchers currently scheduled to make two starts during this period. We will be looking at pitchers who are less than 50% owned in Yahoo leagues. Listed will be those who are rostered over 50%, those who are best available under 50%, and risky options under 50%. There are a few other two-start pitchers available, but they should be avoided.

Two-Start Pitchers - Over 50% Rostered

Best Available Two-Start Pitcher Streamers

Tobias Myers (46% Rostered), Milwaukee Brewers

Scheduled Starts: @ CHC, vs. MIA

Tobias Myers has had a fantastic rookie year, with a 3.13 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, 21.5% strikeout rate, and 6.9% walk rate through 13 starts. He's been especially successful as of late, with a 1.79 ERA, 3.21 FIP, and 0.93 WHIP since the start of June. Look for him to keep it going this week against a Chicago Cubs offense ranked 21st in runs scored since June 1 and a Miami offense ranked 29th in scoring this season.

Jon Gray (27% Rostered), Texas Rangers

Scheduled Starts: vs. CHW, @ TOR

Two scary starts against two scary offenses (a combined 17 runs allowed in eight combined innings against the Mets and Orioles) have sent Jon Gray back to streaming territory, but you should be more than happy to take him back this week.

Even considering his blow-up starts, Gray maintains a 3.96 ERA, 3.48 FIP, 19.8% strikeout rate, 6.3% walk rate, and 12.2% SwStr% through 16 starts. It's hard for a pitcher of that profile to falter against two offenses in the bottom six in runs scored this season.

Risky Two-Start Streamer Picks

Jordan Hicks (33% Rostered), San Francisco Giants

Scheduled Starts: @ LAD, vs. COL

Since May 31, Jordan Hicks sports a 6.08 ERA, 5.44 FIP, 1.78 WHIP, and 9.8 walk rate in eight starts. His week opens against a Dodgers offense tied for fourth in scoring this season, making it easy to avoid Hicks this week.

Javier Assad (33% Rostered), Chicago Cubs

Scheduled Starts: vs. MIL, @ KC

Kept off the mound for three weeks because of a forearm injury, Javier Assad could only make it 2 1/3 innings in his return against the St. Louis Cardinals. He's not in a good spot in his second week back, with a Milwaukee offense tied for seventh in scoring this season and a Royals offense not too far behind at 11th.

Mitchell Parker (28% Rostered), Washington Nationals

Scheduled Starts: vs. SD, @ STL

Mitchell Parker is usually a reliable streaming option, with a 3.90 ERA, 3.93 FIP, 1.14 WHIP, 20.4% strikeout rate, and 5.5% walk rate through 17 starts this season. However, you'd rather avoid Parker and his low strikeout ceiling with a match-up against a Padres offense ranked 12th in scoring this season.

Albert Suarez (28% Rostered), Baltimore Orioles

Scheduled Starts: @ MIA, vs. SD

There's a lot to like about Albert Suarez this season, with a 2.82 ERA and 3.54 FIP through 12 starts this season; there's a lot not to like about Albert Suarez this season, with an 18.5% strikeout rate, 8.4% walk rate, 4.69 xFIP, 33.3% ground ball rate, and an unusually low 4.4% HR/FB. There are serious red flags that make it hard to take him against a Padres offense ranked 12th in scoring this year.

Michael Lorenzen (23% Rostered), Texas Rangers

Scheduled Starts: vs. CHW, @ TOR

With a 5.19 FIP, 17.4% strikeout rate, and 11.8% walk rate, you don't want Michael Lorenzen against a major-league offense. While the Chicago White Sox are barely operating as a major-league offense, it's still hard to justify streaming Lorenzen in any circumstance.

Zack Littell (22% Rostered), Tampa Bay Rays

Scheduled Starts: @ NYY, vs. CIN

Zack Littell can serve well as a streaming pitcher against most offenses, but a Yankees offense pacing the league in scoring isn't most offenses. Leave Littell alone this week.

Jose Soriano (15% Rostered), Los Angeles Angels

Scheduled Starts: @ SEA, vs. OAK

Jose Soriano has had a decent go of it this year, with a 3.71 ERA, 4.12 FIP, 1.20 WHIP, 20% strikeout rate, and 9% walk rate through 15 starts. However, the high walk rate and 95 Location+ grade reveal control issues that make him tough to trust against legitimate offenses. Perhaps surprisingly, Oakland has led the league in scoring in July, making it hard to confidently stream Soriano this week.

Kenta Maeda (12% Rostered), Detroit Tigers

Scheduled Starts: @ CLE, vs. MIN

Kenta Maeda has a 6.88 ERA through 16 starts this season. There are two top-ten offenses on Maeda's schedule this week, so nothing is going for the 36-year-old this week.

David Peterson (12% Rostered), New York Mets

Scheduled Starts: @ MIA, vs. ATL

A 3.09 ERA looks nice, but a 5.36 xERA, 4.54 FIP, 16.8% strikeout rate, and 9.9% walk rate through eight starts don't serve you in any capacity. The Marlins and Braves have seriously struggled this season, but there's still enough talent on both squads to feel comfortable ignoring Peterson this week.

Yilber Diaz (12% Rostered), Arizona Diamondbacks

Scheduled Starts: @ KC, vs. PIT

Yilber Diaz has wowed in his first two career starts, with a 1.50 ERA and 0.92 WHIP through 12 innings. That's all encouraging, but the 23-year-old doesn't have the pedigree to trust him so soon in his career -- especially with a Royals offense ranked 11th in scoring this season.
