Theo Johnson 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook: Rookie Presented With Path To Starting Reps
6 months agoThe New York Giants selected tight end Theo Johnson out of Penn State in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, perhaps knowing that Darren Waller was retiring. The rookie has little by way of existing competition, namely Daniel Bellinger. The 6-foot-6 Johnson was taken out of Penn State in the fourth round sporting an estimated 87 Athleticism Score per NFL Next Gen Stats, ranking second among TEs in the class. He must prove that his size and speed can lead to production but the opportunity cost is low. The potential volume, even on a mediocre passing offense, is high. If attention overcorrects towards Malik Nabers by the red zone then Johnson has a path to 6-8 TDs. He's RotoBaller's TE39 in half-PPR ranks with an early ADP of TE37.
