T.Y. Hilton 2018 Outlook: The Risk Is Worth The Reward
6 years agoIs there any other player in fantasy football whose value is so wrapped up in another player than T.Y. Hilton? His entire value comes down to whether Andrew Luck will be on the field this year. It sure seems like Luck is headed in the right direction but the Colts have convinced us of that before. So how Luck”y” do you feel drafting Hilton?
Luck means Hilton is a WR1 candidate. In 2016, Hilton lead the league with 1448 receiving yards. Hilton’s receptions were way down last season, but he posted the second highest YPR of his career at 16.9. His numbers were not that bad when you consider that his quarterback all season wasn’t on the roster until September 2nd, which was eight days before the Colts Week 1 game. Tough to build a connection that quickly, but he was still able to pull it off.
The Colts won’t have many weapons for Luck this season either, so Hilton will see all the targets he wants. Right now, the going price on Hilton in PPR leagues is a third-round pick. If you can get Hilton in the third round, you’ve either locked down a WR1 at a great discount or a WR2 at an even better discount. Having a WR2 on your team with high WR1 upside is spectacular.
