Roberto Osuna Primed For Continued Ascension
7 years agoToronto Blue Jays closer Roberto Osuna is coming off quite the dominant 2017 season, and all signs point to another successful campaign in 2018. Starting last year late due to neck spasms, Osuna had a shaky first few outings but rebounded for an absolutely stellar campaign. He finished with a 3.38 ERA, 0.86 WHIP, 11.67 K/9, 1.27 BB/9, 9.22 K/BB, and 0.42 HR/9 – the latter five figures were all career-bests. While its certainly a question mark as to how many games the Blue Jays’ will win in 2018, what’s not a question mark is their ascending 22-year-old closer. Osuna has a real chance to finish in the top three among all closers in baseball.
