Kareem Hunt 2021 Player Outlook: Won't Start For The Browns, But Can Start For Your Fantasy Team
4 years agoCleveland Browns' running back Kareem Hunt is heading into his third season with the team after video of an off-the-field incident prompted his release from the Kansas City Chiefs. Hunt totaled over 1,000 yards from scrimmage and 11 touchdowns last season. Teammate Nick Chubb is the star back of the backfield, but Hunt was an excellent Robin to Chubb's Batman, especially when Chubb was lost for 4.5 weeks starting in Week 4. While Hunt will remain the second option in this backfield, he has a clear role on this team as the primary pass-catching back out of the backfield while still being a consistent threat in the running game. Hunt will be working behind an offensive line that is bringing back all five starters from last year along with another year of development between quarterback Baker Mayfield and head coach Kevin Stefanski. Hunt has averaged at least 12.7 PPR points per game in all four of his seasons while averaging 13.2 during his two years in Cleveland. He's always just one injury away from being a full-time RB1, but you're drafting him as a weekly flex option similar to how we used to treat James White of the New England Patriots. As a player with a safe floor and some upside, Hunt is primed for another high-quality fantasy season.
