Jorge Polanco Will Have Season Cut Short By Suspension
7 years agoMinnesota Twins shortstop Jorge Polanco turned in a solid 2017 breakout campaign, slashing .256/.313/.410 with 13 homers, 60 runs, 74 RBI, and 13 stolen bases. The 24-year-old middle infielder was especially hot in August and September, where he hit .316 with 10 of his homers and seven of his steals in 234 plate appearances. However, Polanco was caught using Stanozolol and will not be able to play until June, a huge blow for fantasy owners. Eduardo Escobar will start at shortstop with Polanco out and Erick Aybar will also get time at short for the Twins. While his stock will drop since he will be out for 80 games, Polanco could still be a good player to pick up for the stretch run. Still, make sure that you do not have him on your Opening Day roster.
