Jarred Kelenic 2024 Player Outlook: Everyday Role Offering Intriguing Value
10 months agoAtlanta Braves outfielder Jarred Kelenic was dealt from the Mariners to the Braves this winter but it appears his role with his new club can offer more fantasy value than his previous usage on the West Coast. The 24-year-old was largely deployed in a platoon role in the 2023 season when he hit 11 home runs with 13 stolen bases across 416 plate appearances with the Mariners. However, Braves president of baseball operations Alex Anthopoulos has indicated he is leaning toward playing Kelenic every day in left field in 2024. The fact that Kelenic put forth reverse splits in 2023 and actually hit for more average and power off of left-handers makes the everyday role rather intriguing. He is projected for 17 homers and 14 steals by ATC in 510 plate appearances in the 2024 season and that type of production warrants his 219.75 ADP.
