Deebo Samuel 2020 Outlook: A Solid ADP Buy
5 years agoDeebo Samuel had a terrific 2019 season as far as rookie wide receivers are concerned. He achieved this by hauling in 57 of 81 targets for 802 yards and three scores. He greatly picked up the pace as the season went on as noted by his 35 receptions for 578 yards in Weeks 10-17. Overall, he accounted for 17.2% of the 49ers passing targets, which ranked him in the top 21% of the league. He also had an astounding catch rate of 71.3%, which ranked him in the top 16% of the league. 2020 should bring about even better numbers for the second-year wideout. While the 49ers did spend a first-round draft pick on wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, they also lost Emmanuel Sanders to the New Orleans Saints in free agency, which leaves Samuel as the number one wide receiver on the depth chart. His rapport should only grow with Jimmy Garoppolo in 2020, especially considering he was second in targets on the team in 2019. Samuel currently has an ADP of 37 in PPR leagues and is being taken as the 17th wide receiver off the board. With a solid leap forward in 2020, he could certainly find himself ranked inside the top 10 at the position come seasons end, and therefore, do not feel hesitant about reaching up and grabbing him inside the top 15 at the position.
