C.J. Mosley 2020 Outlook: Time To Earn His Paycheck
5 years agoNew York Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley has been one of the best players at his position since he came into the league in 2014. He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round as the heir-apparent to Ray Lewis, and he did not disappoint. The former Crimson Tide linebacker was selected to the Pro Bowl and earned second-team All-Pro honors in four of his first five seasons, and he racked up 577 combined tackles. He was so impressive for the Ravens that the Jets stole him away last year in free agency with a five-year, $85 million contract, easily the highest salary in the league for a linebacker. Unfortunately, the former Raven underwent season-ending groin surgery after only two weeks last year, but his pick-six and six combined tackles in Week 1 was a delightful sign of things to come for Gang Green. He is as versatile linebacker as there is in the league, and he possesses an elite ability to stop the run and drop into coverage. This year, the 6’2” tackle machine should be a value in IDP leagues since he did not produce at all last season, but his talent should result in a top-10 finish. If Mosley plays 16 games, he will be a steal no matter where he was drafted.
