Austin Hooper 2019 Outlook: Young Tight End Looks To Continue Improving
6 years agoAtlanta Falcons tight end Austin Hooper was quietly the TE6 in PPR scoring during the 2018 season. He set career highs in targets (88), catches (71), yards (660), and touchdowns (four). The fourth-year tight end has shown improvement every season of his career and is primed to do so again in 2019. Hooper isn't a traditional red zone threat in the Atlanta offense but he should operate as the third option in the passing game behind star Julio Jones and second-year wideout Calvin Ridley. Early ADP has Hooper coming off the board as the TE11, usually in the 10th round of 12-team drafts. That establishes Hooper as a nice value come draft day, especially for owners who choose to wait on the position. If he can take another step forward, especially in the touchdown-scoring department, Hooper will be a steal in fantasy drafts in 2019.
