Albert Wilson 2018 Outlook: Slot Role Could Create More Opportunities
6 years agoWilson posted career highs in receptions (42), yards (554), and touchdowns (three) despite missing three games in 2017. The move from Kansas City to Miami could create more opportunities for the 26-year-old as he is expected to compete with Danny Amendola for the coveted slot role previously occupied by Jarvis Landry, who led the league with 112 receptions last season. Expecting Wilson to duplicate those numbers would be wishful thinking, but the wide receiver certainly has a good shot at posting a career-high stat line again in 2018. On the flip side, Wilson’s lack of size (5’9”) evidently limits his upside in the red zone, as he’s scored just seven touchdowns in his four-year career. Therefore, consider the Georgia State product a better value in PPR formats. Having said that, Wilson should only be considered in deeper league since Devante Parker and Kenny Stills will likely be the top two receivers in a mediocre offense.
