Quentin Johnston, Romeo Doubs, Stefon Diggs: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 6

Quentin Johnston - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL DFS Lineup Picks

Should I start Quentin Johnston, Romeo Doubs, Stefon Diggs for Week 6? Fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks and recommendations for the 2025 NFL season.

Every week, wide receiver is a volatile position with some players stepping up who have struggled and other consistent producers having bad weeks. Managing through the ups and downs can be tricky, but that's where a great set of rankings (like RotoBaller's) and these start/sit picks can come in super handy as you make your tough lineup decisions for Week 6.

Three especially unpredictable but sometimes productive veteran options this year are the focus of this post. Romeo Doubs of the Green Bay Packers, Quentin Johnston of the Los Angeles Chargers, and Stefon Diggs of the New England Patriots have each had big games this season, but have also had some disappointing letdowns. What can you expect in Week 6 from these receivers? While there's no way of knowing for sure, in this post, we'll look at their form, matchup, and expected opportunity to try and determine how things will unfold this week.

Should fantasy managers start Doubs, Johnston, and Diggs in Week 6? Let's dive in and find out.

Should I Start Romeo Doubs for Fantasy Football?

The Packers have been without Christian Watson all season due to a knee injury suffered last year, and they also lost Jayden Reed (foot/clavicle) for multiple weeks to IR. Without those two receivers, there is plenty of potential work available for the Packers pass-catchers, and Doubs looks like one of the prime targets to pick up that workload.

Before their Week 5 bye, the Packers played to an unsatisfying 40-40 tie against the Cowboys. It was a huge game for Doubs, though, who hauled in three touchdowns. He led the team in targets (eight) and receptions (six) and finished second on the team behind only running back Josh Jacobs in receiving yards.

Doubs has played more snaps than any other receiver on the team every week this season. He's played at least 70% of snaps each week, with 89% and 90% of snaps the two weeks since Reed's injury in Week 2. Despite that big workload in Week 3 against the Browns, Doubs only had two catches on two targets for 25 yards. The Packers didn't throw the ball as much in that loss, with only 25 pass attempts, but they aired it out more in Week 4 against Dallas.

This week, Doubs' Packers host the Bengals in what should be a "get right" spot for them after going 0-1-1 before their bye week. The Bengals have allowed four receiver touchdowns in five weeks and an average of over 150 yards per game to the position.

Doubs looked like the clear top option last week, especially in the red zone. If he stays in that role, he is a solid WR3 with WR2 upside. RotoBaller has him ranked as the WR34 this week since he can be a boom-or-bust play who really needs touchdowns to be an elite starter. He had them in his last game, though, so there is potential upside.

Should I Start Quentin Johnston for Fantasy Football?

Johnston has also been a touchdown magnet this season, scoring four touchdowns in his first four games, including this score against the Giants in Week 4:

After posting all those touchdowns and at least 70 yards in each game this season, Johnston took a step back in Week 5, managing just four catches for 40 yards. He had a costly fumble on a big hit and played slightly fewer snaps with just four targets after getting at least seven targets in each of the first four games of the season. He had 10 targets in Week 3 and a season-high 13 targets in Week 4 before Week 5's letdown.

Johnston will look to bounce back against the Dolphins this week in a favorable matchup, but he has been slapped with a questionable tag after being limited in practice all week due to a hamstring injury. It looks like he'll be a game-time decision, but he has shown enough upside to still be on the radar as a fantasy starter if he can play through the injury. While he didn't completely miss any practices this week, his limited participation each day does show that it's a potential problem.

In RotoBaller's Week 6 rankings, Johnston is the WR14, making him a strong starter as a WR2 in most formats. If he's out, Ladd McConkey and Keenan Allen would both get huge boosts, but if he plays, look for the Chargers to go back to him as their primary option in the passing game and him to have a big bounce-back performance against Miami.

Should I Start Stefon Diggs for Fantasy Football?

The Patriots brought in Diggs this past offseason to be a true WR1 for developing young QB Drake Maye. Diggs was coming off an ACL injury last year, but a quicker-than-average recovery had him ready to take the field in Week 1. He is still rotating through the position with other receivers and playing about 50% of snaps, but he has shown he can be a big part of his new team's aerial attack.

Diggs is coming off a massive game against his former team, the Bills, last Sunday night. He went off for 146 receiving yards while hauling in 10 of his 12 targets. It was a new season-high in catches, targets, and yards, and it was also his second straight week with over 100 yards receiving.

Diggs still hasn't found the end zone this year, but he does have three red-zone targets across his last two games. He's definitely becoming more involved and bringing his high ceiling to the Pats offense and giving Maye a strong option whenever he's on the field. His snap share could continue to climb in the coming weeks with more targets and more production coming his way.

This week, Diggs and the Pats are in the Big Easy to take on the Saints. New Orleans' secondary has given up the 10th-most receiving yards per game to perimeter receivers and also allowed the second-most PPR points per target in the NFL. It should be a matchup where Diggs can thrive, which is why he's the WR18 this week in RotoBaller's rankings, making him a very strong WR2 start in standard-sized leagues.
