Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 9:
Christian Watson, WR, Packers
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (knee) made his long-awaited return in Week 8, posting four receptions for 85 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Coming off an ACL tear in Week 18 last season, Watson looked explosive in limited action, playing 50% of the snaps, just below his typical 60% share from 2024. Watson's big-play ability was on full display, but the Packers' crowded receiver room continues to limit consistent fantasy value.
In Week 8, it was the Watson and Tucker Kraft show; next week, it could just as easily be Romeo Doubs and Matthew Golden. With targets spread thin across the offense, Watson remains worth a bench stash, but Green Bay's wide receiver rotation makes it risky to trust any Packers' receiver in fantasy lineups right now.
Samaje Perine, RB, Bengals
Cincinnati Bengals running back Samaje Perine had easily his best game of the year in the Week 8 loss to the New York Jets, carrying the ball a season-high nine times for a season-high 94 rushing yards and his first touchdown of 2025. He also caught his only target for a six-yard gain. The 30-year-old veteran's touchdown came on a 32-yard scamper to put the Bengals up comfortably at the time in the third quarter.
Perine also had seven carries in Week 7 for 31 yards, which at the time represented a high mark for the season. It was a nice showing for the veteran back this past Sunday, but Chase Brown also continued his upward trend with 108 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns on 15 touches. Brown will continue to be Cincy's RB1, though, making Perine nothing more than a deep-league handcuff. He is only rostered in 8% of Yahoo leagues.
TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Patriots
New England Patriots rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson had his most efficient game of the season in the team's Week 8 win over the Cleveland Browns, rushing for 75 yards on 10 carries, although he did lose a fumble near the goal line. It was an encouraging outing for Henderson as they used him on more outside runs and toss plays to get him in space, where he looked much more comfortable.
And now with starter Rhamondre Stevenson (toe) banged up and missing both practices to open the week, it could open up a great opportunity for Henderson to see more snaps and handle his biggest workload of the season.
His highest snap share in a game this season was 50% back in Week 5 against the Bills, where running back Antonio Gibson suffered a season-ending ACL injury. Since then, Henderson surprisingly hasn't had a snap share higher than 30% in any of the three games. The rookie out of Ohio State has earned praise from offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels this week, which hopefully signals more touches and better days ahead for Henderson.
If Stevenson is ultimately ruled out, Henderson would rank as an RB2 with upside for Week 9 against the Falcons.
Chimere Dike, WR, Titans
Tennessee Titans rookie wide receiver Chimere Dike is coming off his best game of the season in Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts, catching seven of eight targets for 93 yards. Dike has taken advantage of his opportunities, and that's been acknowledged by the team's offensive coordinator, Nick Holz, who said that he's "going to be a really good player in this league."
The 23-year-old played a season high 88.1% of snaps and had an 86% route share, only trailing fellow rookie Elic Ayomanor. The fourth rounder out of Florida has elite 4.34 speed with the ability to win downfield and be a threat with the ball in his hands. With Tyler Lockett now with the Raiders and Calvin Ridley battling a hamstring injury, Dike could emerge as the team's top receiving option over the second half of the season.
