Jamison Crowder 2018 Outlook: 2017 Wasn't What It Seemed
6 years agoWe all have that player who let us down. When they don’t come through, we like to move on quick, but for Jamison Crowder owners in 2017, you should be willing to give him another shot in 2018. The Alex Smith to Crowder connection will be one you want to have on your team.
Crowder went from scoring 191 PPR points in 2016 to 160 points in 2017 and while owners were hoping he would take another step forward, he really didn’t take a step backwards either. The biggest difference wasn’t receiving yards (58 yards less) or in receptions (one less) but the biggest difference was in touchdowns. Crowder went from a career high seven touchdowns in 2016 down to three touchdowns in 2017. A great reminder that trying to buy touchdowns from season to season can be difficult.
The addition of Paul Richardson should give the Redskins an additional weapon to take the pressure off Crowder and if Derrius Guice can help to boost the run game, Crowder will have plenty of opportunities. After back to back WR3 seasons, Crowder should find another safe WR3 floor in 2018, with a little upside.
