J.J. McCarthy 2024 Outlook: Knee Surgery Ends Rookie's Season Before It Starts
4 months agoMinnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy (knee) will miss his entire rookie campaign following successful surgery on his meniscus. It's a tough development for the 21-year-old, who will now watch Sam Darnold from the sidelines in 2024. While he was unlikely to have a ton of fantasy value in Year 1 regardless, this could slow down his development heading into 2025. Rebuilding dynasty fantasy football managers can consider sending an offer for him as a "buy-l0w" option, but obviously, the Michigan product can be ignored in upcoming fantasy drafts and dropped in all redraft leagues. The team will have Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and T.J. Hockenson under contract next year, so his 2025 fantasy value will likely be a hot topic next offseason.
