Week 2 produced results comparable to Week 1, with fantasy mainstays like Travis Kelce, Sam LaPorta, and Mark Andrews posting below-average performances. While George Kittle and Brock Bowers looked good, few predicted guys like Hunter Henry, Mike Gesicki, and Jonnu Smith would finish Week 2 as some of the slate’s top producers at the position. But with Week 3 on the horizon, it’s time to check in on some of the tight ends around the National Football League who popped up on the injury report.
Being up-to-date on NFL injury news can give you an edge over your league mates in fantasy football. Now that the regular season has begun, fantasy managers should stay locked into the latest injury headlines.

Tommy Tremble Injury Update
Tremble didn’t suit up for Carolina’s opener against the Saints because of back and hamstring injuries. However, he was active for the Week 2 showdown with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Yet, it appears the hamstring issue isn’t behind Tremble, with the 24-year-old practicing in a limited capacity on Wednesday. To his credit, he was the Panthers’ top pass-catcher in Week 2, finishing with three catches for a team-high 23 yards.
Still, the Carolina offense is difficult to trust, meaning Tremble isn’t someone fantasy managers will miss if he doesn’t play on Sunday versus the Las Vegas Raiders.
If he’s not out there in Week 3, Ja'Tavion Sanders and Feleipe Franks would be the next men up, although their fantasy outlooks wouldn’t be promising.
Greg Dulcich Injury Update
Dulcich began the 2024-2025 campaign by catching only two passes for 12 yards. Although he was targeted eight times in Week 2 versus Pittsburgh, he finished with only three receptions for 16 yards.
Dulcich was limited during Wednesday’s practice. The same was true for Adam Trautman, the No. 2 tight end on the depth chart.

With that said, it doesn’t matter who starts for Denver at the position in the Week 3 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as they won’t see much attention from fantasy managers.
That's even more true with Bo Nix under center, with the rookie signal-caller failing to throw a touchdown pass in his first two professional appearances.
Jake Ferguson Injury Update
Ferguson injured his knee in the team’s opener versus the Browns. The injury could have been much worse.
However, it still kept the veteran off the practice field last week. It also forced him to miss Sunday’s unexpected loss to the New Orleans Saints. Fortunately, Ferguson practiced somewhat on Wednesday, so there’s a chance he may be back for the Week 3 clash with the Ravens.
If he isn’t, Luke Schoonmaker will fill the void. Schoonmaker had six grabs for 43 yards in Week 2. However, the 25-year-old wouldn’t have much value in any format outside of 12-team, multi-tight-end setups.
David Njoku Injury Update
Njoku was ruled out long before the Browns' matchup with the Jaguars. As a result, Jordan Akins got more involved. Still, he didn’t do much with his afforded opportunity, catching one ball for 10 yards.
#Browns Stefanski is hopeful that Denzel Ward (shoulder) can play more than 11 snaps vs. #Giants, TE David Njoku 'unlikely' to play.

With Njoku already trending toward missing a second consecutive contest because of his nagging ankle injury, Akins will likely start against the New York Giants. Unfortunately, he isn’t a trustworthy alternative in any fantasy format.
Taysom Hill Injury Update
Hill took a shot to the chest in Sunday’s win over the Cowboys, resulting in a trip to the hospital. Luckily, the injury isn’t considered serious. However, with the hybrid performer missing Wednesday’s practice, his status for Sunday’s contest against the Philadelphia Eagles is up in the air.
Granted, the team has Foster Moreau as its starting tight end. Still, Hill's absence wouldn’t be ideal for the Saints offense. At any rate, if Hill gets the green light, he still wouldn't garner much interest from fantasy managers.
