Keenan Allen, Jameson Williams, Michael Pittman: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 6

Keenan Allen - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Should I start Keenan Allen, Jameson Williams, Michael Pittman Jr. for Week 6? Fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks and recommendations for the 2025 NFL season.

You have to think that at some point in writing start/sit articles for receivers your typical sports writer would run out of things to say in the intro. That might be true, but today is not that day. Because if you have Keenan Allen, Jameson Williams, or Michael Pittman Jr., you're probably considering starting them.

That depends on league size, of course. While Allen and Pittman are relevant in the majority of leagues, Williams is not. But Williams' skill set at least gives many fantasy managers pause. He has the potential for huge games.

So let's dive into some analysis for each player and make recommendations for starts and sits!

Should I Start Keenan Allen for Fantasy Football?

Allen is currently the WR14 in PPR fantasy leagues right now. It seems like it would be foolish to sit him. There's at least some interesting data about the Chargers right now though -- the offensive line injuries have severely hampered the team's offense.

Without both starting offensive tackles, Rashawn Slater (knee) and Joe Alt (ankle), quarterback Justin Herbert struggled massively in Week 5. He managed just 166 passing yards, a season-low, and threw one touchdown and one interception. He was sacked four times.

The pass protection is the team's biggest problem on offense, just like it was last season, unfortunately. And until Alt returns, which wont happen in Week 6, it's hard to imagine things getting better quickly. Still, that doesn't mean Allen should be benched.

He's a reliable target and good separator. He still manages to beat coverages with his route-running prowess. The Dolphins also have an awful defense, and with L.A.'s top-2 running backs both on injured reserve, we should see the Chargers continue to pass heavily. Allen is a flex start with a decent floor.

Should I Start Jameson Williams for Fantasy Football?

Williams has been one of the biggest disappointments in fantasy football this year. After what was a breakout campaign in 2024, he actually regressed heavily so far this season. He's the WR50 in PPR fantasy scoring, and has only a single contest with seven or more points.

He's been completely phased out of the passing offense in a lot of contests so far. And he turned in his worst game of the season in Week 5, when he caught just one pass for nine yards and rushed for one yard, totaling 2.0 PPR fantasy points. That's not remotely startable -- in fact, those are week-losing numbers.

After a few bad drops in Week 4, he essentially was dog-housed for Week 5. Drops have been a problem for "Jamo" throughout his career, and they often come back to bite that player, and fantasy managers who have them, later on in their careers, even after they seem to have cleaned them up.

It's hard to start Williams. The Lions are rolling and scoring a ton of points without his help. They can lean on elite wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown (wrist) and tight end Sam LaPorta.

Should I Start Michael Pittman Jr. for Fantasy Football?

Pittman has had a nice streak of touchdowns to start his season. He's caught four of them through five contests so far. But the return of WR Alec Pierce (concussion) could dilute targets away from Pittman for Week 5. And he has three contests with 41 or fewer receiving yards so far.

The target and reception totals have been nice -- he's averaging seven targets per game and just under four catches -- but if the TDs dry up, he's little more than a WR3/flex play. Indianapolis' offense has been scoring a lot of touchdowns, so it's not unreasonable to think he continues getting end zone looks.

I wouldn't recommend benching Pittman. WRs can easily outproduce what you might think their talent dictates by being on good offenses that consistently move the ball down the field and score.
