Fantasy Basketball Night In Review: Sunday, November 28

Antonio Losada looks back at yesterday's slate of games (11/28/21) and comments on fantasy basketball risers, fallers and takeaways from the games played.

Welcome to the RotoBaller NBA Recap. In this feature, we will highlight a few key fantasy basketball takeaways from the games played during last night's slate. These viewpoints can be both positive and negative and will hopefully help to provide insight into different roster moves you should consider making based on trends and statistical nuggets from around the Association.

Fantasy basketball has a lot of moving pieces with all the different scoring settings that are possible to play under, so I will always do my best to spotlight where players gain or lose value in certain game types. For the sake of simplicity and consistency, every time I mention Fantasy Points in these articles I will be using DraftKings' scoring system, which goes as follows: 1*PTS, 0.5*3PM, 1.25*RBD, 1.5*AST, 2*STL, 2*BLK, -0.5*TO. On top of that, bonus points are awarded for Double-Doubles (+1.5) and Triple-Doubles (+3), only one per player at a time.

Without further ado, let's get right into the latest slate of games from the 2021 season and try to figure out how to take advantage of what we saw transpire.

Steph Curry keeps Warriors winning streak alive hitting 7 treys; Los Angeles Lakers celebrate a victory against Detroit as if it was a title-clinching W

Quite different outlooks those of the two teams from Los Angeles. One stinks, the other does not. The Lakers are really sinking this season and trying to make it to the play-in while the Clippers are performing nightly even without Kawhi Leonard available. Good for the former, they could defeat the bottom-dweller Pistons yesterday by all of four points... while the Clippers lost one to the no. 1 team in the West as they couldn't stop Steph.

Curry hit 7 treys in his 33-point outing to go with 5 boards, 6 dimes, and 6 steals on top of all that. LeBron, AD, and Russ somehow finished into the top-7 of DK's slate, though there were only six games on Sunday making it easy for them to end there. Much more impressive was Jerami Grant, who put up a 32-6-4 line with a block edging Russ in DKFP and carrying Detroit to the finish line in the (ultimately) losing effort.

  • Giannis got another double-double, this time in defeating Indiana, with a 26-10-2-2-3 packed line shooting 66.7% on 15 FGA and going 6-of-10 from the charity stripe. High TO number at 5 with a 31.5% usage rate, but nothing the Bucks will hate.
  • Freddy Vleet-O put up a sound 27-6-9-1 all-around contribution in a slate-leading 40 minutes of playing time. FVV was the best Raptor though he edged rookie Scottie Barnes by just 4 DKFP as the freshman was able to dump 21 pops (4 long-range shots included) on Boston while adding 7 boards, 3 dimes, 2 steals, and 1 block.
  • Enes played his last game as Kanter and finished with a 9-10-0-1-1 in Boston loss. From now on, we'll be asking for Freedom.
  • Fantastic off-the-pine game by the Warriors ultra-reserve Otto Porter Jr. who went on to get himself a dub-dub to the tune of an 18-10-2-2 line in 26 minutes for a marvelous 1.54 FP/min efficient average.
  • Svi Mykhailiuk started at the SG position for the Raps and he was really productive in his large 38 minutes on the court. He hit shots on a low 35.7% basis, but he still finished with a packed-full-of-goodies 12-8-2-2-1 line contributing all across the board to another Canadian W.
  • Although De'Anthony Melton didn't start Sunday's game even with Ja Morant out, he was good for a bulky 14-5-4 do-it-all outing in which he hit 3 triples and went 3-of-4 from the free-throw line. No turnovers on the day and just one personal foul. Target Melton wherever he's available at least for the next couple of weeks while Ja remains out.
  • Night to celebrate Melo. Mr. Anthony went 0-for-7 from the field, 0-for-4 from three, and 0-for-0 from the charity stripe. 20 minutes played for a suicidal 0-4-2-1 line against Detroit. My lord. Not far from him in the DKFP leaderboard: Malik Monk with a putrid 2-2-2-0-1 silly outing in 22 MP.
  • Beef Stew started at C for Detroit in the LBJ Revenge Game and he simply stank. Even though Isaiah Stewart played a reasonable 27 minutes all he could do was finish with a 5-6-1 and a block shooting an ill 28.6% from the field on 7 FGA, hitting only 1-of-2 freebies, and committing 3 TOs. At least he didn't commit a single personal foul...
  • Bogdan Bogdanovic will be out for at least two weeks before he's re-evaluated by the Hawks... Michael Carter-Williams is expected to be out in tonight's Orlando game against Philly... Jalen Green is still projected out until 12/08 potentially missing four more games... John Wall wants to come back to the court closing his hiatus but Houston is not cooperating... Zion should be back during the first or at the lastest the second week of December.
