Waiver Wire for Shallow Leagues (30-50% rostered)
Owen Miller, 1B/2B/3B, Milwaukee Brewers (43% rostered)
Last week, I placed Miller under the "Deeper Waiver Wire Options to Consider" category when he was just 5% rostered. A week later, the Brewers infielder is now 43% rostered after having another solid week at the plate for Milwaukee. Across his last seven games, he's hit two homers and collected three RBI, a walk, and a stolen base. The 26-year-old owns a whopping 1.080 OPS over his last 14 games. Grab him before his rostered percentage continues to go up!
J.D. Davis, 1B/3B, San Francisco Giants (41% rostered)
Davis is yet another name that has been featured on this list before because he still hasn't slowed down! He's mashing homers and picking up RBI out on the Bay. On Friday against Miller's Brewers, the 30-year-old displayed his power by hitting a two-run bomb, a pair of doubles, and driving in three runs in a 15-1 rout.
Waiver Wire for Deeper Leagues (10-30% rostered)
Jeimer Candelario, 3B, Washington Nationals (11% rostered)
2023 is Candelario's first season in Washington after making his way over from the Detroit Tigers. The third baseman has since paid dividends for the rebuilding Nationals, slashing .320/.414/.600 in his last seven games with a homer and five RBI. The 29-year-old has been a bright spot for the last-place Nats, with six home runs and 22 RBI on the year overall.
Spencer Steer, 3B/OF, Cincinnati Reds (31% rostered)
Steer is another name I've featured on this list before. Well, the 25-year-old is hot again, this time hitting an impressive .424/.424/.667 with a home run and seven RBI across his last seven games. On Friday, Steer was a home run shy of the cycle against the Chicago Cubs, in which the Reds won the game, 9-0. If you haven't added him by now, it may be a good idea to do so.
Deeper Waiver Wire Options to Consider (Under 10%)
Zach McKinstry, 2B/3B/SS/OF, Detroit Tigers (5% rostered)
McKinstry has been one of Detroit's best hitters recently, adding to his already impressive stat line for the month with a monster game on Saturday against the White Sox. The 28-year-old was a triple shy of the cycle, with a single, double, home run, two RBI, and a stolen base in the Tigers' 7-3 win. And he's just 5% rostered! Ride out the hot streak while you can.
More Players to Consider
- Christian Bethancourt, C/1B - Tampa Bay Rays (8% rostered)
- Matt Mervis, 1B - Chicago Cubs (14% rostered)
