Kimani Vidal, Kenneth Walker, Zach Charbonnet: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 6

Kimani Vidal - Fantasy Football Rankings, Waiver Wire Pickups, Draft Sleepers

Should I start Kimani Vidal, Kenneth Walker III, Zach Charbonnet for Week 6? Fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks and recommendations for the 2025 NFL season.

The Los Angeles Chargers are likely to use running back Kimani Vidal more in the upcoming weeks, considering that both of their top running backs, Najee Harris (Achilles) and Omarion Hampton (ankle), are on injured reserve. It's not exactly clear how much usage he'll get, though.

Meanwhile, the Seattle Seahawks have a pair of running backs, Kenneth Walker III and Zach Charbonnet, who have been frustrating fantasy managers this season. Committee backfields reduce the upside of both players affected by the usage splits.

Regardless, all three are on the starting fantasy radar for the upcoming slate of games, so it will be worth it for fantasy managers to consider carefully who to put in their lineups and who to keep on their bench. So should you start Vidal, Walker, and Charbonnet for Week 6?

Should I Start Kimani Vidal for Fantasy Football?

Vidal is now the top healthy running back on the Chargers' depth chart. He's playing in his second year in the NFL and will share the backfield with veteran RB Hassan Haskins. This isn't some "next man up" situation, where the next RB on the depth chart will just take over Hampton's role.

Instead, it's more likely to be an ugly committee backfield. It made sense to give Hampton the lion's share of the touches after Harris got hurt. There's a considerable gap in talent, athleticism, speed, and power between the rookie and the duo of Vidal and Haskins.

Chargers offensive coordinator Greg Roman loves his committee backfields, and he's openly admitting that he plans on using both backs in tandem with each other. That makes Vidal a risky flex play for leagues with 12 or more teams in which you don't have other decent options and not much more.

However, the matchup is nice, so I don't recommend benching him. The Miami Dolphins have struggled against the run this year.

Should I Start Kenneth Walker III for Fantasy Football?

Walker is frustratingly being usurped of potential goal-line touches right now. It's capping his fantasy upside. He does have three touchdowns on the season, but it was Charbonnet who vultured his scores after he got his team into scoring position with explosive plays.

In his last two contests, Walker has played just 50 and 44 percent of his team's offensive snaps. The receiving role he had last season has also shrunk a bit, which isn't good for his fantasy value. Given how much more efficient Walker has been than Charbonnet, it's a bit confusing seeing this happen.

This season, Walker averages nearly 4.9 yards per carry. Charbonnet has less than 2.8. Walker is almost doubling his teammate's yards per carry and is far more explosive and elusive. Advanced metric-wise, he's better across the board.

Walker should be started for his upside. He's an elite athlete and can rip off huge plays. But expecting him to become a workhorse all of a sudden would probably not be accurate.

Should I Start Zach Charbonnet for Fantasy Football?

Charbonnet is a riskier start than Walker. He's only been a startable fantasy player when he's vultured touchdowns from Walker, and he doesn't have pass-catching upside.

The matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars isn't insane. But it's hard to trust a player who seems to have a ceiling of under 15.0 PPR fantasy points, doesn't get free points from catching passes, and is arguably playing behind a much more talented running back.

Walker's tendency to bounce runs to the outside likely has a lot to do with this, though. In very deep leagues, you could start Charbonnet in a FLEX spot and probably be alright, but you're banking on a TD if you do.
