Randal Grichuk Looking For Revitalization In Toronto
7 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays acquired outfielder Randal Grichuk from the St. Louis Cardinals in January; he appears poised to man mostly right field up north after patrolling left as well in St. Louis. Grichuk is hoping to get things going in his first season as a Blue Jay after posting an .877 OPS in 2015, but not cracking one higher than .769 since. While Grichuk has been far from bad, a .238/.285/.473 slash line with 22 home runs across 442 plate appearances just isn’t going to get it done for fantasy purposes in this era of baseball. Of course, his 2015 success was largely dependent on his .365 BABIP, whereas that figure sat at .294 and .293 in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Chances are we’ll see more of the Grichuk that we’ve had recently instead of the 2015 version, but hey, a change of scenery could end up being what he needs.
