Myles Turner 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoIndiana Pacers center Myles Turner set a new career high in blocks per game last year, averaging 2.7 and leading the league in the stat. He was also only one of two players (along with Brook Lopez) to average at least two blocks and at least one three per game in 2018-19. Turner has essentially turned into Rudy Gobert-light for fantasy purposes, though his three-point prowess is something Gobert has yet to discover. If Turner could score a bit more (13.3 points per game last year), improve his efficiency from the field (48.7% last year) and get his rebounds closer to double-digits per game (7.2 last year), he’d be in the discussion for an early second round pick. However, all three of those marks have been right around the same clip in each of his past three seasons, which doesn’t offer too much hope for a substantial increase this year. Regardless, what you’re left with is still an extremely valuable player who can often put you in the driver’s seat for blocks single-handedly any given week. He’s a solid target in the third round of drafts and allows you to fill your starting center spot, which is typically the trickiest position to find stability at.
