Lance Lynn 2024 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Seeks To Recapture His Old Form In St. Louis
9 months agoVeteran righty Lance Lynn signed a one-year, $11 million contract with his original team, the St. Louis Cardinals, to try and recapture his prior form. Lynn was (13-11) with a 5.73 ERA but continued to eat innings (183 2/3) and provide strikeouts (191) as he split the season between the Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers. He surrendered an astounding league-leading 44 home runs in 2023. His K rate diminished to 23.6%, and his BB rate rose to 8.3%. Yet Lynn has never had a losing season in his long MLB career and seeks to recapture the form that made him a rotation staple for many years. ATC projects nine wins, a 4.49 ERA, a 1.28 WHIP, and 151 strikeouts in 160 innings. There are safer bets to take a chance on in drafts, but the NFBC ADP of 303 makes it relatively cheap to see if Lynn can bounce back and provide value in the fantasy realm.
