Dynasty Fantasy Football Tight End Player Outlooks

Tyler Warren, Indianapolis Colts

The Athletic's James Boyd says he expects tight end Tyler Warren's volume to increase in 2026 in the absence of receiver Michael Pittman Jr., and he takes it a step further and says that regardless of who the Colts add at wideout, Warren "will be the team's No. 2 pass-catcher." Warren finished as the TE6 in half-PPR scoring in his first year in the NFL, catching 76 of his 112 targets for 817 yards and four touchdowns in 17 games played. His production tapered off after quarterback Daniel Jones suffered a season-ending torn Achilles tendon late in the year, but he still had a promising rookie year overall.

His 76 catches were second-most on the team. The Colts re-signed tight ends Mo Alie-Cox and Drew Ogletree, but they will continue to primarily be used as blockers. Warren is one of the top dynasty TEs going into 2026, and he'll also have top-five upside at his position in single-year formats as long as Jones doesn't suffer any setbacks in his rehab.

Isaiah Likely, New York Giants

New tight end Isaiah Likely, who received a three-year, $40 million contract in free agency, is expected to be a "featured piece" in the New York Giants' offense this year, according to Dan Duggan of The Athletic. Duggan adds that the Giants essentially swapped Likely in for receiver Wan'Dale Robinson, "signaling the shift in their offensive approach" under new head coach John Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Matt Nagy. Likely will be paired often with fellow TE Theo Johnson, while Chris Manhertz was re-signed as the primary blocker at the position.

Likely, 25, was expected to be a bigger part of the Baltimore Ravens' offense in 2025 under Harbaugh, but the former fourth-rounder suffered a foot injury in the preseason and got a late start to the year. He never really recovered and finished with a career-low 27 catches for 307 yards and only one touchdown on 36 targets in 14 games (seven starts). Likely will be an obvious bounce-back candidate in fantasy football in 2026, although Johnson's presence could keep his ceiling low.

Mason Taylor, New York Jets

New York Jets tight end Mason Taylor (neck) saw his rookie season get cut short by a neck injury that caused him to miss the final four games of 2025. However, the 21-year-old showed some encouraging flashes before getting hurt, recording 44 receptions for 369 yards and a touchdown on 65 targets across 13 games. While Taylor's numbers might not jump off the page, it's important to remember that he was mired in a brutal offensive environment in New York that featured journeymen quarterbacks Justin Fields and Tyrod Taylor as its starters for much of the year.

Former Seattle Seahawks and Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Geno Smith currently projects as the Jets' starter heading into 2026, which could at least bring some stability to the position, if not high-end production. Outside of star wideout Garrett Wilson (knee), Taylor may be the favorite to finish second on the Jets in targets and receptions in 2026. His upside is still limited by the questionable situation around him in New York, but Taylor could be an undervalued tight end option for dynasty managers to target.

Harold Fannin Jr., Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns tight end Harold Fannin Jr. has officially taken over as the team's No. 1 tight end ahead of the 2026 season. This was inevitable with David Njoku essentially vowing he'd depart this offseason, but now that free agency has started, it's official. There are no signs of Njoku wanting to come back, and the Browns haven't brought in any significant players to replace him. As a result, Fannin is entrenched atop the depth chart after a spectacular rookie season.

In his first taste of NFL action in 2025, he caught 72 of 107 targets for 731 yards and six touchdowns, ranking as the overall TE6 in full-PPR leagues. He managed to put together a very productive season despite facing competition from Njoku and catching passes from an uninspiring quarterback room. Now that he has proven that he can produce amid adversity, he'll have an even more favorable outlook as the Browns' clear-cut No. 1 tight end. Plus, quarterback Shedeur Sanders should play at least a little better in his second pro season, giving Fannin increased stability week over week.

The buy-low window on Fannin has closed in dynasty leagues, but given that he's just 21 years old, managers can still consider trading for him at full price. He appears to have a long, successful career ahead of him, full of rich fantasy upside.

Brenton Strange, Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brenton Strange continues to rise in the latest dynasty fantasy football rankings. Between his own talent and the Jaguars' impressive offense, Strange has the potential to be a heavily-targeted option in the passing game with plenty of yards and touchdowns coming his way. We saw a glimpse of that in 2025, as he averaged 3.8 catches and 45 yards per game. However, he also missed five weeks due to injury, limiting his ceiling over the course of the season.

He finished as the overall TE23, which is probably his floor in 2026. On the other hand, he has top-12 upside while catching passes from Trevor Lawrence, especially given how highly the Jaguars think of him. This past weekend, John Shipley of Jaguars On SI reported that the Jaguars believe Strange could be the most underrated tight end in football and "know just how important he is to everything they do." That's an encouraging sign that he'll get even more involved next year.

These comments from Shipley were followed by a report that the Jaguars might look to draft a tight end to pair with Strange. That sounds concerning at first, but we don't think dynasty managers should panic. Strange remains the No. 1 tight end in Jacksonville, and the Jaguars don't have the 2026 draft capital to select someone who would immediately steal a big portion of his volume. As it stands, Strange is a top-18 fantasy tight end for 2026, and he has clear top-10 upside.
