Gerald Everett 2019 Outlook: Potential in a crowded offense
5 years agoHere’s a crazy stat about Gerald Everett: he was targeted on just over 13% of his snaps in 2018. That’s the highest on the Rams. Higher than Robert Woods, Brandin Cooks, and even Cooper Kupp. Everett is a talented young tight end oozing with potential that just hasn’t been able to earn the full trust of the coaching staff. Tyler Higbee, the Rams starting tight end in 2018, logged over 400 more snaps than Everett last season despite having less targets and yards. It is worth noting that the tide began to change a bit as the season went on. Everett outsnapped Higbee in five of the last seven games to end the season including the team’s postseason run. If Everett can overtake Higbee as the team’s primary tight end, he’d enter the streaming radar at a wasteland of a position, even in an offense as crowded as the Rams. He has a rapport with Goff and was targeted on quite a few of the biggest plays of the season for the Rams. He could be worth a look as an end-of-the-draft dart throw, especially in dynasty leagues.
