Week 6 Waiver Wire Pickups - Kenneth Gainwell, Kendre Miller, Kimani Vidal Fantasy Football Outlooks

Kenneth Gainwell - Fantasy Football Rankings, Waiver Wire Sleepers

Week 6 fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Kenneth Gainwell, Kendre Miller, Kimani Vidal in 2025. Read their waiver wire outlooks for fantasy football.

Throughout the course of the regular seasons, fantasy managers see several backfield shifts due to underperforming veterans or injuries.

As a result, many backup running backs emerge as must-roster players as they are set to see a much larger role than initially anticipated.

So, should you pick up Gainwell, Miller, or Vidal in your fantasy football leagues for Week 6 of 2025? Let's dive in.

Kenneth Gainwell Week 6 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 40% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in 12-team leagues

The first running back we will analyze is Kenneth Gainwell of the Pittsburgh Steelers. While the Steelers were off in Week 5, Gainwell is still available in nearly 60% of leagues and is worth a look entering Week 6. In their Week 4 victory over the Minnesota Vikings, Ginawell led the backfield as Jaylen Warren was unable to suit up due to a knee injury.

In this spot-start, the former Eagle looked very comfortable in the lead role, taking 19 carries for 99 yards and two rushing scores. Through the air, Gainwell caught all six of his targets for 35 yards. In this contest, Gainwell faced minimal competition as rookie Kaleb Johnson was deployed as the clear No.2 option.

However, with Warren slated to return in Week 6, Gainwell will likely revert to the No. 2 role. Through Weeks 2 and 3, Gainwell took just nine total carries and saw just 33.5% of the team snaps. During this two-game stretch, Warren was deployed as the lead option, seeing just under 70% of the team's snaps.

Despite this, Gainwell is worth holding in all 12-team leagues as he could still carry low-end FLEX value when Warren is healthy. In addition, if Warren were to face a setback, Gainwell would carry must-start RB2 upside.

Kendre Miller Week 6 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 35% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in 12-team leagues

The 23-year-old had a limited role in each of his first two seasons in the NFL but appears to be turning the corner. Despite sitting as the No. 2 option behind long-time Saint, Alvin Kamara, Miller has carved out a role in Year 3.

After logging under 10 carries in the first three games, Miller has seen double-digit attempts in back-to-back games. In Week 4, Miller took 11 carries for 65 yards and a touchdown. Then, in their Week 5 victory over the New York Giants, Miller took 10 carries for 41 yards. He also caught his longest for eight yards in this contest.

While Kamra is still the workhorse in the backfield, Miller has seen his role grow over the last two weeks. During this stretch, Miller has seen 32 and 42% of the team's snaps, which is a significant jump from the 19% he averaged through the first three games.

Miller should be viewed as a priority stash, as he would take on a large workload if Kamara were to miss time. In addition, with the Saints falling out of the playoff picture, they could look to shop some of their veterans at the deadline, opening another path for Miller to take on the lead role.

Seeing Miller already begin to reach low-end FLEX territory despite sitting behind Kamara's positive sign for his long-term outlook in this backfield, as the team may view him as Kamara's successor.

Kimani Vidal Week 6 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 1% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in 14-team leagues

The final running back we will look to target is Kimani Vidal of the Los Angeles Chargers. Vidal had a minimal role in the Los Angeles offense as a rookie, as he took just 43 carries for 155 yards. Through the air, Vidal caught five passes for 62 yards and his lone touchdown.

Through Weeks 1 through 4, Vidal suited up in just one game (Week 4) and logged only two offensive snaps. However, after Omarion Hampton (ankle) left Sunday's contest with an ankle injury, Vidal saw a much larger role. While he still split opportunities with veteran Hassan Haskins, Vidal was given four carries nd totaled 18 yards.

He caught his lone target for one yard as well.

While Hampton's status for Week 6 is still not known, Vidal should be viewed as an appropriate target in case the breakout rookie were to miss time. While Haskins does figure to have a role if Hampton is sidelined, Vidal's upside is much higher, as Haskins ran for just 13 yards on five carries in this game. Last season, Haskins showed similar production, posting a low 2.6 YPC.

Managers in the per format should consider Vidal a priority candidate that could carry solid RB2 upside in the immediate future, if Hampton were to miss time. He would have a prime matchup in Week 6 facing the Miami Dolphins, who just allowed over 200 rushing yards to Rico Dowdle on Sunday.

While Vidal's long-term upside is not as high as Gainwell's or Miller's, he could have the most short-term upside among running backs in this piece, given Hampton's unknown status.
