Ethan Salas Cleared to Resume Baseball Activities
Ethan Salas (back) has been cleared to resume baseball activities. The Padres' top-ranked prospect hasn't played in a game since April 17 due to a stress reaction in his back. The 19-year-old played in only 10 games at Double-A San Antonio before succumbing to injury, going 6-for-32 (.188) with a 6:5 BB:K and two steals. With about a month left in the season, there is a chance that he could return before it ends, however, at this point, there is no need to rush it. The left-handed hitter may get assigned to the Arizona Fall League (AFL) for some extra work before the year is out, just like in 2024 when he participated in the AFL. Either way, with just 10 games played at the Double-A level, that's likely where the youngster will begin the 2026 season before making a push to Triple-A. MLB's 19th-overall prospect still has great potential in his bat, so dynasty managers should continue to keep tabs on his progression.
