Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 8:
TreVeyon Henderson, RB, New England Patriots
New England Patriots rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson had only two carries (on nine offensive snaps) for five yards in the 31-13 blowout win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 7 on Sunday, while backfield mate Rhamondre Stevenson saw a season-high 18 carries and scored a touchdown.
"It's just kinda how it played out. Thought Rhamondre was running well. Had some good protections. TreVeyon's gonna be a large part of what we do ... that's just kind of where it was this week," head coach Mike Vrabel said when asked about Henderson's sparse usage. It was especially concerning that Henderson barely played with the Patriots having a comfortable lead in the second half.
Stevenson has had his share of fumbling issues, but he hasn't put the ball on the ground in the last two weeks and was very efficient on Sunday. The 22-year-old Henderson should get more involved in the offense eventually, but right now, it's hard to trust him as even an RB3/flex in fantasy lineups.
Tyler Warren, TE, Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis Colts tight end Tyler Warren caught four of five targets for 60 yards and a touchdown in the Colts' 38-24 win over the Chargers. Warren continues an excellent start to his career and has already solidified his status as a weekly top tight end option in fantasy.
Indianapolis has arguably featured the league's best offense through the first seven weeks, and Warren leads the way for them with 439 receiving yards.
The rookie should remain a focal point of the Colts' offense as they use him in advantageous spots to showcase his elite yards-after-catch ability. He'll remain a top-five option headed into Week 8 against the Titans.
Quinshon Judkins, RB, Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins carried the ball 25 times for 84 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns during Sunday's Week 7 win over the Miami Dolphins. He was not targeted in the passing game.
Judkins' yardage efficiency (3.4 YPC) was nothing special, but that's a moot point when you look at his touchdown efficiency. The rookie had a great opportunity to thrive this week against a Dolphins defense that has struggled to defend the run all year.
Miami's offensive woes also helped Judkins, giving the ball back to Cleveland's offense quite often. Judkins certainly capitalized on his opportunities and now has double-digit fantasy points (PPR) in five of his six games. He should be viewed as a low-end RB1 heading into Week 8 against the New England Patriots.
Cam Skattebo, RB, New York Giants
New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo had 16 carries for 60 yards along with three catches for 34 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 33-32 loss to the Broncos.
Skattebo couldn't find a whole lot of running room against a stout Denver defense, but made up for some of it as a receiver. The rookie again maintained a firm lead in touches over Tyrone Tracy Jr., but he was more involved in this one, rushing for 46 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.
The rookie phenom should continue to operate as the Giants' lead back and preferred option near the goal line and in the passing game, which bodes well for his fantasy value moving forward in an improving Giants offense.
