Ameer Abdullah 2019 Player Outlook: Was Overrated, Now Forgotten
5 years agoThe highlight of Ameer Abdullah's career is a preseason run as a rookie. If he's made more than a handful of impressive plays since then, I'd be surprised. Abdullah served as a kick returner for the Vikings last year, which does nothing for us in fantasy. His entire 2018 consisted of three receptions and one carry. Abdullah is, at best, fourth on the Vikings' running back depth chart. He would need an injury in front of him just to be active on game days, two injuries to see the field, and three injuries to see any sort of relevant work. I say injuries because there is a 0% chance he is beating out anyone on talent, of which he has very little. Abdullah was a hot name in 2015, but the truth is he was never good at football. He will be out of the league in a year or two and does not belong on any rosters in any league format of any size.
