MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (10/28/24) - Today's Top Lineups

Freddie Freeman - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Waiver Wire Pickups, MLB News

The top MLB DFS daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on October 28, 2024. Mike Marteny's MLB DFS sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

The World Series moves to New York tonight after two disastrous games in L.A. for the Yankees. The A.L. Champions face an 0-2 deficit as they head to Yankee Stadium.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 10/28/2024, with the slate beginning at 8:08 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential.

Good luck, RotoBallers!

Pitchers - MLB DFS Showdown Picks

You can't roster pitchers on FanDuel, just five hitters. But both starting pitchers are in the player pool on DraftKings.

Walker Buehler at NYY ($10.4K DK; $15.6K DK CPT)

It has been a really rough road for Buehler since his last All-Star season of 2022. Buehler missed nearly two years of action because of Tommy John surgery and a right flexor tendon injury. His 2024 has been a series of mostly poor starts and another missed two months with hip inflammation.

That was forgiven in Game 3 of the NLCS against the Mets. Buehler had his best start of the season by far. The bad news? He only pitched four innings.

Considering Clarke Schmidt's truncated starts throughout the playoffs, we likely aren't getting value out of a pitcher tonight. Yankee Stadium is a hitter's dream and both pitchers have struggled lately. Schmidt had a 4.50 ERA in eight home starts this year.

I don't have an issue using either starter as a flex play, but I'm not paying the premium for pitching in this one. The intriguing start for Buehler in Game 3 of the NLCS is promising enough for a large-field GPP, but it's the World Series in Yankee Stadium. This feels like a hitter's night.

Top Hitters - MLB DFS Showdown Picks

Juan Soto – OF, NYY vs. Walker Buehler ($9.8K DK; $14.7K DK CPT, $8.5K FD)

Soto has at least one hit in each of his last four postseason games and has scored at least one run in five straight. He has homered three times in the last four games. Whatever the Yankees need to pay to keep Soto, they should probably do it. He has been the only bright spot in the World Series for the Yankees.

Freddie Freeman – 1B, LAD vs. Clarke Schmidt ($7K DK, $10.5K DK CAPT, $7.5K FD)

Freeman is the World Series MVP so far after he followed up his Game 1 heroics with another home run in Game 2. What are we even doing here? How is Freeman not the most expensive player? Every build of mine will have Freeman tonight.

Also consider: Giancarlo Stanton, Teoscar Hernandez, Jazz Chisholm Jr.

Top Value - MLB DFS Showdown Picks

Tommy Edman – SS/OF, LAD vs. Clarke Schmidt ($6.8K DK, $10.2K DK CPT, $6K FD)

Edman is riding an eight-game postseason hitting streak. Not only that, but he has at least two hits in five consecutive games. There is no hotter hitter on either team than Edman right now. Edman has two homers and 12 RBI in that eight-game streak. Even Juan Soto isn't this hot!

Anthony Rizzo – 1B, NYY vs. Walker Buehler ($5.4K DK, $5.5K FD)

I didn't put Rizzo's captain price because we're not using him there anyway. Rizzo is a career .333 hitter in the World Series. His homer and five RBI all came with the Cubs in 2016, but the Yankees need a hero. Rizzo's experience in the World Series makes him a likely candidate if it's not going to be Juan Soto.

Also consider: Will Smith, Anthony Volpe
