Week 5 Waiver Wire Pickups - Isaiah Bond, Jalen Tolbert, KaVontae Turpin Fantasy Football Outlooks

Jalen Tolbert - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Week 5 fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Isaiah Bond, Jalen Tolbert, KaVontae Turpin in 2025. Read their waiver wire outlooks for fantasy football.

Even four weeks into the season, though we have a lot more knowledge about players than we did when the season started, there's still plenty of reason to hunt the waiver wire for more pickups.

Players sometimes have slow starts to their seasons. They could have dealt with injuries in the offseason. Maybe their offense is taking time to find its stride, or perhaps other injuries open up the door for more opportunity.

Whatever the reason, let's examine whether Cleveland Browns wide receiver Isaiah Bond and Dallas Cowboys wide receivers Jalen Tolbert and KaVontae Turpin are worth picking up ahead of Week 5 of 2025!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Isaiah Bond Week 5 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 2% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in All Leagues

It makes sense that Bond has gotten off to a slow start to the season. He was embroiled in legal issues through the offseason and wasn't drafted. He didn't sign with an NFL team until the middle of August, so he missed a ton of practice time with his new team.

But his Week 3 and Week 4 playing time was much improved over where it was in the first two weeks, and last week, he caught three of his six targets for 58 yards. He led his team in receiving in the loss to the Detroit Lions. And he looked impressive, making a handful of very good catches.

The Browns don't have a lot of receiving talent. WR Jerry Jeudy, supposedly the team's WR1, is just the WR54 on the season in PPR fantasy scoring. And Bond outproduced him in both of the last two games. Jeudy's playing time has taken a slight dip, but that's probably not too significant yet.

Bond was originally seen as a potential second or third round pick in the NFL Draft before his legal issues caused him to slide. And with Browns WR Cedric Tillman (hamstring) likely to miss more than just one week, Bond could emerge as his team's top passing option. That makes him worth an add in all leagues.

Jalen Tolbert Week 5 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 16% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in 16+ Team Leagues

The dominant WR1 for the Dallas Cowboys will clearly be George Pickens while CeeDee Lamb (ankle) is out with his high-ankle sprain. Pickens scored 33.4 PPR fantasy points, catching eight of his 11 targets for 134 yards and two touchdowns in the overtime win.

Tolbert caught four of his six targets for 61 yards, meanwhile, with much of that total coming on a wild sideline toe-dragging catch in overtime. Aside from that play, he had just three catches for 27 yards. Keep in mind Lamb didn't play at all.

And this was in an absolute shootout of a game that saw regulation expire with the score being 37-37. Despite such a massive day from Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, Tolbert was largely unproductive. He simply doesn't appear to have the talent to be someone you can trust starting.

He might have bigger games ahead of him, but there have been times when he was the highest-ranked healthy receiver on the depth chart, and even then, he struggled to produce for fantasy. You can add him in very deep leagues, though.

KaVontae Turpin Week 5 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 25% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in 16+ Team Leagues

Turpin being the Cowboys' primary returner means, of course, that he's universally rostered in leagues that give points for return yards. But in other leagues, he doesn't appear to have a ton of upside, much like Tolbert. Turpin caught three of his four targets for 30 yards and rushed one time for four yards.

Turpin simply isn't that involved in the passing game. He gets occasional targets designed to get him in open space, where he can leverage his speed and elusiveness. But he's not sufficiently good route runner to consistently beat the coverages of NFL defensive backs and get open.

Turpin is a solid role player, but for fantasy purposes, in leagues with normal scoring settings, he's not very valuable.
